Intensified spell and the magus

Hello everyone:

I was curious that if im a level 5 magus and have intensified spell would my spell strike with a shocking grasp do 10d6 damage plus weapon damage.

Or do i have to be level 10 for that to work?

Any explanation of how this interaction works would be appreciated

Intensify increases the caster level cap of spells by five. Your shocking Grasp Spell has a maximum of 10d6 points of damage, but you're correct. You still need the caster level to take advantage of this new maximum.

^ yup. Intensify Spell does nothing for Shocking Grasp until your Caster Level reaches 6 or higher.
