The Atlanta region is an exception to the rule with as many times as EoT has been run from start to finish. Heck, we were one of the first two regions to complete all four parts and report them. I suspect, off the top of my head, Atlanta region has run it twice as many times as any other region minimum.

Mike's suspicion above prompted me to task our Venture-Ensign, Illeist to collect 12+ level play in the Raleigh region. Here is what Illeist has uncovered:

  • Eyes of the Ten (all four scenarios): 9 tables
  • The Ruby Phoenix Tournament (10-12): 2 tables
  • Reign of Winter - The Frozen Stars (11-13): 1 table
  • Race for the Runecarved Key (12+): 2 tables
  • Siege of the Diamond City (12-13)(14-15): 2 tables
  • Academy of Secrets (12-14): 2 tables
  • Tomb of the Iron Medusa (13-15): 3 tables
  • Rise of the Runelords - Sins of the Saviors (14-16): 1 table
  • Witchwar Legacy (16-18): 3 tables
Does your region have much 12+ level play?
Does the Atlanta region surpass the rest of us as much as Mike thinks? (I hope they do.)
Whenever I hear that Eyes of the Ten has been reported less than 100 times, it makes me wonder how that is true given that the Raleigh Region alone has 9 reported tables. Do we really make up ~10% of the reported tables?

Please make sure that what is listed has been reported so we can compare numbers to what the system shows as being reported.

For my part, I ran all four parts of Eyes of Ten twice while I was still in Atlanta. I'm not sure of exactly how many times the complete series has been run since.

5/5 *

Here is my quick counts of Atlanta Region:

  • Eyes of the Ten (all four scenarios): 6 tables (all 6-man tables to my knowledge)
  • The Ruby Phoenix Tournament (10-12): 3+ tables
  • Race for the Runecarved Key (12+): 4 tables
  • Siege of the Diamond City (12-13)(14-15): 4 tables
  • Academy of Secrets (12-14): 5 tables
  • Tomb of the Iron Medusa (13-15): 4 tables
  • The Moonscar (15-17): 2 tables

Atlanta does have quite a large amount of players that play PFS AND homegames, so we tend not to schedule AP parts in "PFS mode" at all. For example, I myself am GMing and about to finish (end of book 6) Shattered Star in campaign mode, and all my players are PFS players as well taking credit.

Looks like although we have less amount of people going through Eyes of the Ten, because we do them in full 6-man tables most people bond together and continue on to do Academy, Tomb and the rest. We also do NOT offer Eyes at any of our regional cons (on purpose). Same for 12+ modules. Only 12+ content offered in Georgia cons is muti-table specials.

We also have 2 (or more!) 6-man groups getting VERY close to needing EOTT as well.

Scarab Sages 3/5

Blacksburg, VA:

Eyes of the Ten (all 4 parts): 1 table

APs:

Shattered Star Book 4 (11-13): 2 tables
Reign of Winter Book 4 (11-13): 1 table
Reign of Winter Book 5 (13-15): 1 table
Reign of Winter Book 6 (15-17): 1 table

We also ran 1 table of Wrath of the Righteous through all six books (the last three of which I believe are above level eleven), though I know that doesn't get reported for PFS.

4/5 5/55/5 **

My area has no 12+ level play with just a year of formal organized play, though we are planning at least two tables of EotT now that we finally have characters at level 12.

5/5 *

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I also believe that we actually have a lot of more potential 12+ play ready to go as new content is released (NOT APs!). Ever since Wardens of the Reborn Forge was launched, we have at least 1 GM and group of players basically just waiting for it to be sanctioned to play.

5/5

DFW:

  • Eyes of the Ten (all four scenarios): 2 tables (both 6-PC tables)
  • Rise of the Runelords - Fortress of the Stone Giants (12-14): 1 table
  • Academy of Secrets (12-14): 1 table *maybe* (I think it was scheduled and removed)
  • Reign of Winter Book 4 (11-13): 1 table scheduled for this Saturday, 2 players

There is a lot more interest in 13+ now that two tables have finished Eyes though (second table just last month).

Shadow Lodge 4/5

Dice Dojo, Chicago / home group:

By my estimation, between our FLGS and home group, we have a fifteen PCs in the L13-16 range, and a bunch more just below that.

Ruby Phoenix (10-12): 1 table (2nd table runs in July)

Skull and Shackles: The Price of Infamy (11-13): 1 table

EoTT (12-13): 2 tables (3rd table runs next week)

Siege of the Diamond City (12-13): 1 table

Academy of Secrets (12-14): 2 tables

RotR: Fortress of the Stone Giants (12-14): 1 table (runs next week)

Skull and Shackles: From Hell's Heart (13-15): 1 table (finishes in July)

Tomb of the Iron Medusa (13-15): 1 table

Sanctioned AP TBD (14-16): 1 table in late summer/fall

Also, ditto to what @Carlos Robledo said: Ever since Wardens of the Reborn Forge was launched, we have at least 1 GM and group of players basically just waiting for it to be sanctioned to play.

ETA: This is specific to the Dice Dojo and my group of friends. There are other groups/stores in the Chicagoland area that I have no clue about their #s.

  • Shattered Star, Into the Nightmare Rift (13-15) - 1 table
  • The Moonscar (15-17) - 1 table

Nothing for pfs in San Antonio above lvl 12 yet. We do have various homegames going that APs that give pfs credit. We are waiting for a group to gather for eyes of the ten. Hopefully my 11th lvl fighter will reach 12 in time.

Even though we have been playing here in San Antonio since June 2010 we have still not had enough regular players to run a 12+ game. We are almost there, I think I am waiting for 2 more players to get to level 12 before I add it to the Schedule.

Though I have 2 level 12 Characters and I think 4 more that will hit Level 12 soon.

Manitoba is midway through our third Eyes group (tables of 4), and we've had a few higher-level tables run as home games.

Eyes of the Ten (all 4 parts): 3 tables, 1-2 more tables of four waiting for a GM
Siege of the Diamond City (14-15): 1 table
The Ruby Phoenix Tournament (10-12): 5 tables
Academy of Secrets (12-14): 1 table
Tomb of the Iron Medusa (13-15): 1 table

Grand Lodge 3/5

I must say that I'm jealous of all the 12+ tables being ran. Here in the Kansas City area, we've got a good amount of players spread out between three stores, but the level average right now is ideal for the 5-9 scenarios and below.

We haven’t run any 12+ tables yet at our local venue, although I believe it’s been going for not quite 2 years.

There have been discussions of having Eyes of the Ten run later this year as I think there are 4-5 of us who are nearing 11, myself included (one XP from 11).

5/5 5/55/5

For NorCal here is what I know in just 1 year:

Eyes of the Ten (all four scenarios): 9 tables in 1 year (at least 4 more times that I know of prior to this)

The Ruby Phoenix Tournament (10-12): 1 public table, maybe more

Reign of Winter - The Frozen Stars (11-13): no public tables, at least once for PFS credit in home group

Race for the Runecarved Key (12+): 2 tables

Siege of the Diamond City (12-13)(14-15): 3 tables

Academy of Secrets (12-14): 1 Public table, maybe more private

Tomb of the Iron Medusa (13-15): unknown/no public tables

Rise of the Runelords - Sins of the Saviors (14-16): Unknown/no public tables

Witchwar Legacy (16-18): unknown/no public tables

Silver Crusade 5/5 5/5 **

Toronto: we've run Eyes (all 4 parts) twice. As far as I know no 12+ APS or modules have been run in our normal PFS venues but there are enough home games running that some may have been run there.

Roysier have all 13 of those eyes of the ten been reported? Because that is a significant chunk of all EotT ever reported world wide all in one area. I don't even think Denver has that many, and according to the post above Atalanta another very large PFS area has only ever ran 6.

Edit: and 9 in one year!

More Edit: doing some quick math that would be 36 to 63 individual players that have gone through EofT in your area all in 1 year, since you can only ever play it once baring GM replay star credit. That is a damn lot in one year.

Scarab Sages 5/5

Online play sees quite a bit of high level play. Ill work on getting some numbers later but it also tends to be easier to organize for, what with not having to match up schedules around driving to a location.

In the New York/New Jersey area I know of the following (there have probably been more):

  • Eyes of the Ten (all four scenarios): 3 tables
  • The Ruby Phoenix Tournament (10-12): 2 tables
  • Academy of Secrets (12-14): 1 table
  • Tomb of the Iron Medusa (13-15): 1 table

I was involved in one way or another with each of these tables.

We were one of the first (if not the first) to report the first tables of parts 1 to 3 of Eyes of the Ten. We played them at local cons as they came out. I believe Atlanta beat us to be the first to report part four.

As far as I know yes, I do know the one I played in was reported.

The number of 55 EOTT reporting I hear thrown around I think is outdated I heard that same number over a year ago. I'm willing to guess that number has doubled over the past year.

    The Details are:
2 games run in Sacramento: one by Will J. the other by Erik B.
1 game in San Jose run by Jerry C.
3 games run in the East Bay by David L, Steven S., Stephen K.
1 game run at Black Diamond Games
1 game run at Kublacon 2013 by Will J. (Also one run at Kublacon 2012 by Pirate Rob).

So I guess that's 8 not 9. But there are probably a few I'm leaving out.

There are also 2 more are being planned that I know of.

One was just run in Castro Valley by Steven G., and is reported. This was also run with 4 of the players playing PFS for only about a year beforehand, which I also found amazing. And we have another prospective group looking to get to 12 very soon and play in our store alone, and Scott K., a local frequent, is planning to play in a game to be run by...I wanna say Will J is gonna run another. The Bay Area truly is a booming area.

EDIT: Right he doesn't use his proper last name. Well that's the other two prospective groups I know of, and we are running an open Academy of Secrets game within two-three weeks.

Not quite doubled, as of May 21 Part 1 has been reported less then 100 times. That means your area alone has reported a little of over 10% of all EotT games Part I ever reported. Which to me is high.

Eyes of the Ten - all 4 parts (5 runs) - caveat emptor, 1 run may not be reported from several years ago and 1 run I don't think will be fully completed until end of July.

We have 3 more groups that will play through Eyes within the next 3 months.

Ruby Phoenix Tournament - at least 3

    Academy of Secrets 3

Race for the Runecarved Key - 1

Seige of the Diamond City - 1

Tomb of the Iron Medusa - 3

    Moonscar - 1

    Rise of the Runelords 5 - 1

Witchwar Legacy - 1 (this may not have happened yet)

There is a huge disparity in the success rate of groups getting the top-level boon that I am not at all happy with. I feel some GMs are "phoning it in" so to speak, and just handing that boon out rather than making the players work for it. The last two tables who played through had a 100% success rate. That's fishy, to me. This is one of the reasons I want to see this series replaced.

By my count, that's 68 reported complete, four part EoT sessions with the only remaining "large regions" left to report is Missouri, Boston, Ohio, Tampa, Virginia, two more regions in California and the handful of times it's been run in Austalia. By my estimation, there should be another 21-22 completed EoT that have been reported but not accounted for here, which leaves it short of 100 times as has already been mentioned.

    @ Dragnmoon and Roysier

We have an extremely active PFS presence, drawing from a large, heavily populated area, over a fairly long period of time, with several regional conventions for exposure. This may make high level play more noticeable than it might be otherwise.

    area details:
The area of California that Roysier is talking about is as large as some countries, and bigger than many states. From Fresno to Sacramento is over 200 miles, (One is almost directly north of me, and one is almost directly south)Then take that and spread it approximately 100 miles wide to get to the Bay Area to take in the South Bay, the North Bay and Castro Valley.

In 2000, Northern California had a population of 13.23 million people. According to my librarian husband, this is more than all states except for CA, NY, FL, and TX. Now all of those don't live within that 100x200 mile area, but that area does include the largest urban centers of the Northern California area. The land area of just the metro areas (Bay, Sac, Stockton, Fresno, Modesto/Merced) is 40,000 square miles (about the size of Kentucky, bigger than 15 states).

It's a *lot* of people that we pull from.

Add into that People like Will Johnson and Pirate Rob, who are very generous with their time. I know that Will has run it at least twice. Add the leadership of people like Painlord and our VCs, Brent Holtsberry and Mike Azzolino, over the years of PFS in the area, and the play rate in some areas, like *cough* Castro Valley*cough*.

We're also amazingly lucky with the number of conventions offered reasonably closely over the course of the year, most of which have 100 tables plus or minus.

I'm extremely proud of this area and all we do, but it can give us a false sense of what the state of the world of PFS looks like.

For our game we had 3 local players (family), the GM was traveling 100km, 2 players approx. 150km and the 6th player a lot more.

It would be difficult - apart of a location like PaizoCon UK or Conception or any of the Crispy-Cons to find the amount of players with level 12+ and enough time / the right environment to go through such a scenario.

The alternative is to get a group of friends together (with sleepover) and spend a whole weekend.

    Shadow Lodge 4/5

    Finland, capitol region:

Eyes of the Ten (3 tables)

    Academy of Secrets (1 table)

Tomb of the Iron Medusa (1 table)

    Probably several AP credit tables.

    Pirkanmaa region:

Eyes of the Ten (1 table missing 4th scenario, another table planned)

    Rasputin Must Die (planned)

Got to mention the upcoming Siege of the Diamond City in July. Possibly a Seeker table there. I can already hear the gnashing of teeth and the quiet rain of Seeker tears.

    A list o' stuff

I see I forgot a bunch of AP volumes. So, an addendum:

I know Reign of Winter is being run for PFS, but I do not believe they are anywhere near 12th level.

None of the other options have been run at 12th level or higher.

    Liberty's Edge 4/5 5/5

    Chester, UK:

    - RotR: Fortress of the Stone Giants - 1 table in AP campaign mode

There hasn't been any other level 12+ play in Chester, and I'm not aware of any taking place in north-west England as a whole.

The last two parts of RotR (still in campaign mode) are planned for later in the year at Chester Games Club.

    Liberty's Edge 4/5 5/5 ** Venture-Captain, Texas—Waco

In DC we've run Eyes of the Ten 3 times, with another group trying to align their schedules and more people getting close.

    Ruby Phoenix Tournament once
RotR: Fortress of the Stone Giants once
Tomb of the Iron Medusa once

There may be more out there, the high level players tend to organize themselves separate from the Meetup because up until very recently there haven't been that many of us.

    3/5

Hmm... between Portland and the Road to 20 group that James mentioned...

1x Eyes of the Ten, run by Ryan B.
    3x Ruby Phoenix Tournament
    2x Academy of Secrets
3x Tomb of the Iron Medusa
1x Fortress of the Stone Giants
    1x Moonscar
    1x Sins of the Saviors
    1x Witchwar Legacy
    1x Spires of Xin-Shalast
    1x Dead Heart of Xin

That's just what I've been personally involved in.

Eyes of the Ten: All 4 parts completed 7 times, and an 8th on the horizon

It's been run 7 times locally already? No wonder I am having some issues with putting that 8th table together. Still I think the scheduling will come together for running it in August.

Either I missed the announcement or you are very sneaky.

Either way, congratulations are in order.

Regarding your EotT table, I have some thoughts. I'll email them to you tomorrow.
