I took 2 of my kids to see HttyD2 almost as good as the first movie. Some sad bits and not as much character development as I would like for Hicups friends but the Dragon Battles were epic.

My middle Dwarfling is obsessed with Dragons and I have seen every episode of Dragon Riders of Berk and HttD several times she gave it a thumbs up.

I can't wait to see it.

Liberty's Edge

Looking forward to seeing this. My girlfriend got me hooked.

Glad to hear the dwarflings liked it... now to see if I can convince some of my younger cousins that they want to see it so I have an excuse to see it at the cinema :P

Because you can't go otherwise?

Older people going alone to kids movies usally get strange looks.

This. I'm a heavily bearded, bald guy. If some of my friends wanted to go see it, then that'd be fine, I'd go with them, but they don't. So it'd be me, on my own, sitting in a cinema full of kids and their parents/guardians to watch what is, despite the appeal to fantasy fans of all ages, technically a kids movie. While it doesn't really bother me personally, I know it doesn't look that good, and could make some of the parents/guardians uncomfortable. So I'll either wait to watch it at home, or I'll take my cousins if they want to see it.

I also like to talk about the movie afterwards, over a coffee, Mrs 8th Dwarf was looking after our youngest and she wouldn't let me spoiler it for her. So while the Dwarflings thought it was cool they weren't interested in deconstructing the movie.

Who cares if they're uncomfortable honestly? They are the ones who are judgmental and asinine in assuming that you're some kind of perv or weirdo.

Because I'd rather just let them enjoy the movie? I don't like being made to feel uncomfortable when I'm trying to enjoy something, so I try to not make others uncomfortable.

I get strange looks anyway. And tasers. Don't care, going to see it.

Well worth the tazering.. damn that was good.

Liberty's Edge

Seeing it tonight can't wait. I heard it gets pretty dark for a kids movie. Doesn't pull punches.

Pretty dark for any movie. I'm trying to remember the last time i saw something darker.

Liberty's Edge

Does it make the death of the Dad in Lion King look like a teddy bear picnic?

With a basket.

I saw it last night and loved it.

Did you tear up at the sad part D78?

Liberty's Edge

Saw it last night, loved it. I did tear up at the sad part, too. I want my next Pathfinder PC to have toothless as his companion/ mount.

I already new about that part and it seems Hiccup will always loose something for any major victory. His leg in the first movie and you know the sad part in this one.

I would love a dragon rider class(or some archetypes).

It was dark! No one could see a thing!

Saw it yesterday with the kids. Thought it was great. The sad part was mostly unexpected (thought it likely to be someone else), but overall really enjoyed it.
