Best way to carry around undead minions?

Advice

So I've been thinking about putting together a necromancer or possibly a juju oracle (thanks to ravingdork for some excellent inspiration). However, one thing I'm running into is the problem of actually having you minions follow you around. Is there a convenient way to have them at your disposal in case you run into trouble, but still not freaking out the local populace every time you leave a dungeon and venture into town?

Simple....

You kill the local populace. This solves two problems.

1. You don't have to worry about transportation, and you're learning to work with local resources.

2. Now that your local population are your minions you don't need to worry about freaking them out.

Well... that is certainly ONE solution. Maybe we could find one a teensie bit less evil? Or at least subtle. I'm also trying to figure out if there's any way to justify a necromancer in a party with a paladin, but that might be stretching it too far.

What some narrow minded folk call evil, is merely a more flexible point of view. Flip the question around. Maybe it's the paladin's presence that needs justification, if he's determined to prevent your worthy work.

What level are we talking about here?

How evil are you planning on being? I kinda like LazarX's idea! Keep jobs local etc... lol

I honestly suggest using a Portable Hole, a Covered Wagon, lots of Robes with Hoods/Gloves for minions and plenty of air fresheners.

For giggles always release some kind of "create their own spawn" type of undead in every town you leave.

Yeah! Why should his/her God's beliefs trump your own? Religious Equality and all that jazz.

And of course if you kill and animate the Paladin first, he can be one of your stronger supporters. At the very least you'll be rid of his self-righteous preaching, and be hailed a hero by your fellow party members.

Well depending on your level and class a Robe of Bones might be a good investment, or stuff the minions in a bag of holding. Maybe just have shadows, they tend to be good at concealing themselves.

Plenty of awesome templates that would be great on an Undead Paladin. Skeletal Warrior, Death Knight, Graveknight, Vampire lol.

I suggest making him Fall From Grace before you recycle his corpse into a more potent undead character!

Hrm, looking at level 8-10, so 4th/5th level spells to play around with and I'm not decided on a build, so feats and stuff are open.

Wait, you can fill up a portable hole with undead? That's brilliant! And as for the evil level... I'm leaning towards the neutral end, not really evil.

Portable hole?

Just bury them. A little dirt or a camo net goes a long way. And youre really out of luck with that whole paladin thing.

Bluff the Paladin, convince him your undead minions are all members of your extended family, who unfortunately, suffer from a rare disease that makes them look like they're decaying. Sadly, there's no cure for this genetic problem, though researchers are seeking funding to find a way to fix this problem, if he'd like to do the good thing and donate to the cause...

Portable holes work for me, you've got them when you need them and it's glorious being ambushed alone in an alley, only to open up a pit of undead minions rising from the ground turning the odds firmly in your favour. Laugh as your hoarde swarms the ambusher, and you add him to your roster :)

Wagons don't afford that luxury.
