Racial Deities

I don't delve too deeply into religion with many of my characters, but I'm looking at making a cleric now. Always a fan of characters who were raised outside of their own race, I was curious how racial deities work in PFS. Specifically, as a cleric, do you need to be of a racial deity's race to have that deity as your patron? If my character found religion among another race, can his deity be a racial deity of that race rather than his own?

Any character (of the proper alignment) can worship any god (unless the rules say otherwise).

So you can have a halfling that worships Torag (typically a dwarven god), or a squirrel (assuming you have a squirrel boon) that worships Calistra (typically an elven deity).
