Oof, naming a date now is likely to cause some upsets down the line. With Chris's suggestion above, I'm hoping to get as many levels as possible out to the public near the module's street date of June 25th. Depending on my Gen Con responsibilities—usually pretty considerable—the second "half" might have to wait until after that convention is done.

Well, here we are. I will be running Emerald Spire, levels 1 and 2, at a convention tomorrow. Are there Chronicle sheets, or should I tell the players that I hope they had a good time?
So far as I know they don't publicly exist yet, they are not on the additional resources currently.
I too am eagerly awaiting the ability to run people through Emerald Spire.

Chris perhaps you could email Mike and ask him on the status of these.
If they were out I also would be running it at a convention this weekend . Perhaps you could run it for the players with 0 credit.

The sanctioning document for The Emerald Spire Superdungeon is open on my computer right now as I'm going through and developing things. Given the art assets still needed and the proximity to PaizoCon, I do not anticipate having these ready for people for conventions this weekend. PaizoCon preparations have needed to take priority up until now.

Technically, running levels of Emerald Spire before they are "sanctioned" doesn't count as playing them though, does it? (i.e. players won't lose their chance to play for credit, if that's what they really want out of Emerald Spire)

If they play it without getting a chronicle sheet because one isn't available, then they could still play it for credit after the chronicle is available. The same applies to APs that were played before they were ever sanctioned.

John, Mike, just checking:
As I understand the campaign rules, I am not allowed to say, "Let me take your contact information; as soon as the Chronicles are released, I'll mail one to you." The players will have to run their characters through the adventures a second time to earn the Chronicles, yes?

I certainly wouldn't give you my mailing address for that. Seems like a bad idea with people you don't really know. Maybe a e-mail address that you could send a .pdf to, but that's it.
Of course, if X person was really insistent upon going with that, that's on them. Up to you what you want to do with it afterwards.

There's not going to be a campaign mode, and you don't have the rules saying how to run the floors, so I'd go with no.
If the Emerald Spire was going to have a campaign mode you might be able to do it.

If I was that worried I would have them send them to my local VO.

I was just about to ask the same, but you just beat me to it. ^_^

Add me to the list. We are planning a Emerald-Spire-Athon (how deep can players get in one sitting till we drop).
The spire goes up to dungeon level 16 and character level 13, but the levels are not that big. If you get 1 xp for each level then you will need to play other things to be able to face the lower dungeon levels.

As noted in several Pathfinder Society threads, I'm trying to get these out in a timely fashion, with pre-Gen Con being the goal for the first eight and soon after Gen Con being the projection for the other eight. That said, an earlier release might happen depending on how scenario development goes for Gen Con (which must take higher priority).

I am totally bringing my espresso machine along for that.
Got four players. :)
BUT! I wouldn't mind doing it again, like in your game room? Gather four players and I will see if you guys can get further then the other group ;)
@Belafon: Yeah, we are just being interested. :)

Sorry about the slight necro, but I just wanted to query this, since nobody else commented on it.
When I impulse-bought it at Paizocon UK, I assumed that I could run it in campaign mode, although technically, by the wording of the 5.0 guide, this only applies to APs. Which this technically isn't.
Any chance this is going to get fixed in the new guide?

Last I heard, there are no plans to open this up to campaign mode. John adds some justification here.
By the way, I was also at PaizoCon UK; do I know you? I always like to put a name (or username) to a face. :-)

I'm going to spend some time working on Emerald Spire Chronicle sheets this weekend after I finish up the Season 6 convention boon Chronicle sheets. As you can imagine, the module has been a little low in the recent priorities, but I'm trying to get the first couple sheets out before I leave for Gen Con.

Ah, I see. My reasoning it was had more in common with an AP than a standard 32-page module, but I can see the point about wanting to keep it for games days. Not that it makes any difference to me; there aren't any gamedays near me AFAIK, so apart from the big cons all my Pathfinder gaming is at home, regardless of mode. EDIT: Maybe I should look into starting one.

Maybe? I don't remember anyone called Matt, but I don't remember the names of everybody I gamed with. I was there for the whole weekend (including the dinner and ghostwalk, and slot 0). I played a Druid all day Saturday, an Undine Sorcerer Sunday morning, and a Taldan Wizard (with mammoths) on Sunday afternoon. Oh, and my real name is James.
If we didn't cross paths, maybe I'll see you at Oddcon or 3XPL?

Hi John:
Any chance we can get the chronicles in the next 2 weeks? There are a lot of cons coming up over Labor Day WE (I'm personally hoping to run it at Pacificon here in the Bay Area).
Thanks very much!
Hey Dorin,
I spent a lot of my flight to Gen Con working on the first nine Chronicle sheets, and with Gen Con essentially done, I'm hoping to be able to make time to handle the backlog of Adventure Path and Module sanctioning. I cannot make any promises, but two weeks is a very realistic goal to get a significant chunk of the levels sanctioned.
Glad to hear you're excited about these,
John

Pfft, I don't care about all of the chronicle sheets, I just want to know if I can schedule the first level soon...

Pathfinder Module: The Emerald Spire Superdungeon is now sanctioned in its entirety for Pathfinder Society Organized Play. You can find the download either on the product page or in the right-hand banner on the Additional Resources page.
