Which faction should this character pick?

Liberty's Edge

Although I'm not new to PFS, I seem to be having trouble picking a faction for this character. Normally I just pick one for a mechanical benefit, or just because the faction would fit the character (or the character would fit the faction). However, this time I'm stumped. :)

So, if you're interested, throw out some ideas my way!

Okrin's Background:

Okrin is an Angel-Blooded Aasimar from the Realm of the Mammoth Lords, but looks 100% like a Kellid (Scion of Humanity alternate racial trait). An "Outsider" (Aasimar) to this particular following was rescued by a Kellid hunting party when he was found severly injured but alive, and nursed back to health.

He could not remember who he was, so integrated within his newfound home, married, and had children. Over time, this lineage produced decendants who looked Kellid, but had longer lifespans than for a normal Kellid.

Although excepted, there was a lot of gossip about this lineage.

Enter Okrin, who was part of this line. Strange events started to manifest themselves. First, the cold does not bother him as much as his peers (Cold Resistance 5), as well as his ability to see in the cold dark nights without light (Darkvision). Then he started to babble in a strange tongue (Celestial, Tongues Curse). This made the village fearful, and he was eventually exiled.

He wandered for many days and nights, alone, until he met a man who was a Pathfinder. This man helped him understand his powers and what his heritage actually was, and was brought into the Society as a field agent.

Now the questions are: which faction was this field agent from? What faction would have had business being that far north? Since the Realm of the Mammoth Lords is close to the Worldwound, perhaps someone whose interest lies there?

More seriously, I don't know much about the person. The background description you've given is kind of passive: I don't know what choices hes made, what his alignment is, what kind of oracle powers he has etc. Things that happen to a character don't define him, its his reaction to them that tells you who a person is.

yep, sounds like Grand Lodge would be a good choice from what you've posted. of course, once he started as an initiate, he easily could have had contact with other factions and found their agendas more to his liking. there is no "right" answer.

When in doubt, Grand Lodge.

Grand Lodge

I agree with The Fox. Grand Lodge is pretty much a catch-all as far as character concepts go. If you are looking for another faction that would be hanging around the Worldwound and would be willing to give assistance to a lost and confused Angelkin, I would also say Silver Crusade.

Although you Kellids call us Shoanti "Barbarians", we both respect freedom and spend our lives fighting against tyranny! I encourage you to seek out the Andorans. Their pretty "uniforms" and odd "democratic" ways will seem strange at first, but their hearts are in the right place. Perhaps, together, we can inject some courage into these eagle fledglings and make their organization strong again!

Yes, I forgot to mention that a lot of this character's crunch is listed in his profile page. So clicking the character link will reveal some of the specifics. :)

My initial thoughts was Silver Crusade, as they're hanging around the Worldwound. This character's alignment is Chaotic Good, so I don't know how well he'd work within Grand Lodge, but since it's a "catch all" faction, I suppose I could just lump him in there.

As to Andoran, I have several Andoran characters already. But I suppose I could make another. I'll keep that in mind. ;)

EDIT: Forgot to mention, thanks to everyone for the feedback. :)

Brother of Gorum! If you join up with the Andorans, I shall treat you to some warm fermented mare's milk, and we can talk of our victories on the battlefield!

"Fellow brother of Gorum!" Okrin boasts. "Fermented mare's milk. I have never tried that. But if it kicks as much as any ale I have had so far, I welcome in trying it. Let glory come to us both on the battlefield as we stand firm as the hordes lie slain around us."

If your character has spent time up in the Realm of the Mammoth Lords/Worldwound, then having your character be my mentor is just the roleplaying hook I might have needed :)

CG I'd go andoran. The city dwelling slaves need to breathe the air of FREEEDOM!

Very coincidentally he just completed Shades of Ice I & II, and will be playing part III in over a week!

Glory to Our Lord in Iron! The Society asks that I seek out the tower of a lost Ulfen king in your very homeland. Your knowledge of the peaks will be of great assistance, as will your sword!

I've played Shades of Ice with a different character, just can't remember which ones I have played. But I know I played the last one.

BNW: Yeah, FREEDOM FOR EVERYONE! :)

"Hmm, lost Ulfen king in the Realm of the Mammoth Lords? I have heard tales of such a place somewhere in the icy regions where the animals dare not walk. I have not personally visited such a place, nor have I seen it. But whatever assistance I can provide to help you on your quest, you shall have it."

Chaotic can work fine with the grand lodge. I've got two in there. Pathfinder's first, politics second.
