So exciting to think that in 2 weeks, I can be watching videos of my fellow players inside PfO! :)

Dark Archive Goblin Squad Member

where is my guilds alpha backer... time to score the buddy invite :)

Goblin Squad Member

Congrats to Goblinworks! It must be almost surreal to see this coming together finally.

Congrats!! Any chance of a team picture?

Very exciting. Love the Zog server. :]

Goblin Squad Member

I do like the name as well. The Kingdom of Zog came to this region before man, and now the server of Zog comes before the real servers. Very cool. :)

Goblin Squad Member

I second the team picture idea!

The first week or two of Alpha Testing will be an internal test with Goblinworks and Paizo employees and family members.

I've been meaning to mention that I am your cousin. You know, the one from the family. Yes.

Oh hey, my dear brother, it's been ages. Cousin Ryan! How's Aunt Sharon?

Goblin Squad Member

I'm your long lost Scottish son. Yeah. That.

Goblin Squad Member

I will certainly be one of those on the fringe between the OS version and the bootcamp windows version. Hope the mac version gets worked out!

Goblin Squad Member

Lol you mean we aren't one big somewhat happy family? We are hurt... Seriously though I suppose those who shelled out a grand deserve some perks as long as they tell the rest of us EVERYTHING!

Other options include becoming the adopted child of a Goblinworker/Paizo employee to get in on that family-members-in-alpha action.

Goblin Squad Member

Are you sure the world is ready for this?

Liberty's Edge Goblin Squad Member

Congrats on hitting this milestone! Looking forward to congratulating you again when EE is out.

When: Subject to changes from Goblinworks, I estimate the afternoon of the 16th.

Where: Try my twitch.tv page.

Congatulations to all the hardworking Goblins.

Does anyone with experience in Twitch or other Let's Play videos have a good tutorial for getting started with that sort of thing?

The no NDA is what makes this different and meaningful--it's indicative of a sincere commitment to crowdforging.

Goblin Squad Member

I am actually very very surprised that there is no NDA. Also i am surprised that GW is going to be so open on their development cycle.

I cant wait to see how the game unfolds and see the progression.

GW I would LOVE to see a progression video of the game. For example maybe 10-20 seconds per weekly build. When EE hits release the video. When OE hits release the video but with additional EE video. That way we can see from start to finish how things have changed.

Anyway im very excited. its obvious that GW is committed to the crowdforging effort and keeping open lines of communications with us.

I mean how many companies would post their financial information and development cycles online?

I agree completely.

Goblinworks' commitment to let us see them in their underwear is astounding.

Goblin Squad Member

This is lovely news, I'm so excited to explore the world you all have worked so hard on. Thank you for all you do!

I just don't really see the point of an NDA for a game like ours. There's no plot. There are no "secrets". There's not going to be a race to see who does what "first". You are the content. You will all have "firsts" ("First time I died". "First time I killed someone". "First time I crafted something useful". etc.)

On the other hand there are going to be a ton of haters. People are going to come out of the wood work to talk about how the graphics suck, the animation sucks, the UI sucks, the design sucks, the customer service sucks, the players are toxic and suck, and how 17 years ago I ran a production system for a card game that didn't work.

You are going to be our defense against those people. We are going to say "look, we told everyone exactly what we were doing. These players, fully informed, have engaged and are having fun. Nobody has been mislead. We are committed to a process of continuous improvement and that means that the thing you don't like can and will be improved over time (except that thing I did in 1997, I really can't fix that)."

And then we're going to turn to you all and say "please tell them how awesome you think this game is and how much fun you're having!"

Ah, if only $900 fell out of the sky in the next 12 days.

Hey, I've almost got my money's worth out of the landrush already.

Goblin Squad Member

An odd, yellow, goat-drawn vardo slowly makes its way down an abandoned road towards The River King where a magical spell separating it from all the other lands of Golarion is soon said to dissipate. As the wagon draws nearer to the shielded area it suddenly comes to a halt and out a tiny side window pops a very lively, yet very old crone.

"Would 'ye looky there Goaty, glorious eh? Just think all the green we be smokin' and the evil witchy-witches we be 'a burnin'"

<pulls out her enormous pipe and takes a puff>

<cackles>

Goblin Squad Member

Lol I agree with that wishful thinking Jazz. I'm probably going to buy some of the faction type packs for some alts and if/when they allow you to purchase a second characters xp training but I can't justify the 900.

And that you guys can think that through and then act on it, and not repeat the same NDA reflex of the rest of the industry, inspires confidence.

I recommend getting Evolve, it works and it's free. There's not much to it, turn it on, set up your twitch account, and you should be done.

It really is remarkably easy if you go to twitch and follow their links. I was able to do it without any problem in just a few minutes, although I had to disable Aero when I tested by capturing using Monitor View.

Goblin Squad Member

Ryan,

One element I am somewhat surprised that you have not yet requested from prospective alpha testers is a dxdiag of their machine specs. That has been a common element in every beta project on which I have worked and is clearly even more important in these early stages of alpha. It seems to me that there is little use in inviting that first group of alpha testers if you don't know that each has a computer capable of running the client.
