Best Undead Slaying Class or Combo?

Advice

Hi all.

Thinking about making a character for PFS that is the penultimate Undead Hunter/Killer. I've never tried out a class like this before, so here I am on the forums looking for good builds to study.

I was thinking a mix of Warpriest and Inquisitor but I don't know. That combo might not be the best one.

Thanks ahead of time for any advice and examples.

Ranger is the obvious choice for the Favored Enemy, but a 1-level dip of Ranger, followed by Inquisitor of Pharasma wouldn't be a bad idea either.

Why do you want the second best Undead Hunter/Killer? The thread title says you are looking for the best.

Hunting is the job for a ranger, and with favored enemy able to cover all undead, they are a solid martial class for the job.

A paladin with the Oath against Undeath archetype will do very well on finding and putting to rest undead creatures. This will also lead to the Knioght of Ozem prestige class.

Edit: Added quote for clarity.

I think the Souldwarden prestige class would put in a good showing. At ninth if you can manage to destroy an undead with your channel, you can get back a channel attempt.

Might depend on what else you want your character to be good at and how you want to be an undead slayer. Inquisitor has spellcasting, great skills, and bane. Ranger's favored enemy always comes in handy. Paladins smite evil is devastating against undead. Clerics come with full casting and that's hard to go wrong with. Oracles are also an okay choice, and bones oracle can even snag up undead with command undead channeling for an odd way to go about it.

Aasimar or Elf Oracle of life, because channel is just that good against undead. They have the added bonus of being really great healers as well.

Cleric with the death and/or repose domains. Can make himself and the party virtually immune to negative energy and death effects. Plus channeling of course.

Example here.

Dwarven Ranger or Inquisitor or combination of it. Channeling is good against mooks but against too many BBEG undead totally worthless.

switch hitter cleric.

Undead 1, welcome to the team, smash your allies!

Undead 2,3,4... BURRRN!

Shadow Lodge

Can't go wrong with an Oracle of Bones.

Some of the best times this season were had by playing one from Kar Maga!

Liberty's Edge

For something completely different, consider playing an Urban Druid with the Repose domain.

Grand Lodge

My now 12th level elf ranger started out as an undead slayer, but, after a few levels, it was pretty pointless. There wasn't enough undead out of all the scenarios. 2nd favored enemy: humans!

The real monster, is man! That's why I'm a half-orc!
