Invisibility...please clarify the rules

Rules Questions

Dark Archive

Okay so I got into a disagreement about invisibility with a game I am running. How does hitting an invisible target with a tanglefoot bag effect it? Does it become partially visible? What other external actions can be taken by player to detect invisible creatures other than the obvious magic spells? Does scent allow them to find the creature? I read in the PG that it only requires a 10 survival roll to detect and track a scent. Seems a little too easy for an invisible creature to be detected. Can I get some clarification. There seems to be not errata from Paizo on the subject. I even saw someone had this insane idea about flour.

Have you read the section on invisibility in the back of the book under "Appendix 1"?

That section mentions most everything you've asked about.

I would probably rule that a tanglefoot bag makes the target visible.

At the very least you'd know what square to target.

Scarab Sages Modules Overlord

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Since an invisible creature in water displaces water (thus giving away its location), but still benefits from concealment, and a tanglefoot bag covers a target in enough goo to entangle him (but not render him paralyzed), I'd certainly run an invisible creature affected by a tanglefoot bag as have its location pinpointed, but still getting the 505 miss chance.
