Hello, Luthor,

The developers have stated that the online game will not be class-based, so advancement will be in whatever areas you choose to train.

As such, it leaves things wide open to recreate an existing character you may have in tabletop, or it could be taken as a way to finally make that strange hybrid character concept, that never quite worked before...

You really think there will be fewer hotels? I'm not so sure.

Goblin Squad Member

I didn't think it was possible to have more, so I took a shot.

Goblin Squad Member

Argh, I wish I could be a part of both this group *and* TEO. Has Theodium completed that cloning spell yet?

Goblin Squad Member

I would be proud to sign off on any agreement to make Thod's Friends a "Switzerland" of the Echo Wood, keeping the #1 PVE content of PFO available for all. Anything needed in this regard from the 7th Veil, please holler.

Scarab Sages Goblin Squad Member

I second our status as the 'Switzerland' of the River Nations, if it results in statuesque blonde valkyries*, beer and chocolate for all its citizens.

Join up, and receive your complimentary box of Ferrero Rocher from the Ambassador!

Complete Emerald Spire Level 1, and get a commemorative cuckoo clock!

*or male equivalent, if that's your thing. Fraternity and Sorority for all! Vive Le Spire!

The best way to view our settlement is as a safe haven, equiper,re supplier to all the adventures who brave the spire.
We have no intention of trying to control access to the spire and indeed would ask all our neighbours to assist us in making sure such a thing doesn't happen.
That way the super dungeon stays open and available to all .

Goblin Squad Member

I see that we have our settlement at the V position as requested. So what happens now?

Goblin Squad Member

Aaah, just seen Thod's email, so we must be nice to evil Golgotha....

Goblin Squad Member

You're really close to the center of the map (for now) so when political groups need to talk this Switzerland thing might not be so far off.

An outsiders opinion, I love the name The Emerald Lodge.

Sczarni Goblin Squad Member

So I wonder how much it will cost to build a Negotiation Hall /Pit/Cage/Hole/Arena or shall I suggest an Emerald Thunderdome.
That could be fun! and entertaining to watch.
A regular greivance settling festival, added captured monster optional.

Grand Lodge Goblin Squad Member

Just to announce that we just climbed up one spot in the leader board and are no on rank 12.
We now got two missing votes from one member not as organized and one who had issues with his account. Thanks GW for fixing this.

The Keeper's of the Circle fully support Thod's Friends and their Pathfinder Society story for holding this critical position on the map. Building up the RP potential for PFO is a very positive goal for the game, and as such I would encourage other Roseblood Accord members to also consider this support.

Theodum has just finished part 1 of the History of the New River Kingdoms

Goblin Squad Member

Fabulous work, as always.

Scarab Sages Goblin Squad Member

Thank you, Erian.

We're not asking to hold the hex for our selfish reasons, but to ensure it remains open to all. We welcome peaceful travellers, through the gates.

Grand Lodge Goblin Squad Member

We are growing slowly and maybe by the next draw we will manage to get past Forgeholm in the leaderboard.

If you are interested in exploring the Emerald Spire but don't want to be evil - we offer a place for you.

Sure thing, Snorter. I've read your posts and Thods, and interacted on some for what...7 or 8 years now probably? So, you've got a lot of PF-cred in my book. I sincerely hope that the "major players" in PFO on this forum can see that and understand the value of infusing Paizo's fabulous RP opportunities into this game. It's one of the major things differentiating this experience for me. Otherwise we're just bits and pixels running around trying to delete each other.

I've lost track of what "Emerald Lodge" defines. Is it the talked-about replacement-name for Thod's Friends, or for the Settlement of Emerald Spire Base Camp, or is it something else entirely?

We are currently deciding via votes on a new name for both - our 'alliance' and the settlement. Emerald Lodge looks like the front runner but isn't official yet.

Moving from dictatorship (me) to a more democratic way to decide on issues like this unfortunately takes time. So bear with us for the moment.

Goblin Squad Member

No worries. I like to make sure I call people and things by the name(s) they themselves prefer, so, when I recommend you, I want to use the correct terminology.

Scarab Sages Goblin Squad Member

Could refer to both the meeting hall itself, the settlement, or the membership, which makes it a very versatile term.

I must add that I didn't come up with it, but I wish I had.
It was Nicolas Noblet's suggestion (aka Calixymenthillian).

Theodum walked slowly towards the inn that had been selected as headquarter for the Kingdom of Xeilias. He watched the folks out on the street while walking with his staff used as a crutch.
There still were a few people singing hallelujah and praising the new utopia that Ryhn would bring them. But there had been more after the announcement that the rift would open soon. Now they seemed to be replaced by doomsayers holding placards of losing your soul - or worse - if you entered the rift.
And it seemed they got more and more the closer he got to the inn.

He had heard stories in the street about the Golgothans. They drank blood, sacrificed newborns and even worse unspeakable horrors.
Off course - this was propaganda from competing groups - but how much was true? Theodum would start to find out.
He passed the two hellknights in immaticulate black plate mail. He felt lost for a moment befor he got picked up by a diplomat of the Golgothans to be lead to a small room. No signs of blood or torture equipment tone seen. It was rather sparse, clean and workable. There were signs of sound proofing and he didn't dare to cast a detect magic to check out if it was magically protected from scrying.

Theodum left with a new spring in his step a lot later as he had planned. He had learned a lot - but whatever had been said would stay between him and the hosts who had entertained him.

Hey Folks!

I found this post of Snorter that peaked my interest.
I thus sent him a PM and he was so kind as to send me here and give me a link to the Guild "Thod's Friends" so I applied there too.

What else can I do to further the cause, to help strengthen the society into the Online game?

Scarab Sages Goblin Squad Member

One more to equal Hammerfall, but we have to overtake them to get that 11th spot, since they set up before us.

Thanks for joining. Need to wait to be home to approve you.

Most help is in spreading the word. Do you have friends / fellow Pathfinder Gamers from your country who might have contributed to the EE but haven't given their votes in the Landrush?

Otherwise - there will be lots of opportunities to help once the game starts - depends on your experience and what you like to do.

Goblin Squad Member

I do have pledged for the 'Invite a friend' add-on, but I guess that is for once the game starts.

I'll see if I can bring some folks to register at Goblinworks and help us in the Landrush, but I don't know if that works, if they haven't pledged in the Kickstarter...

Sorry, need three more to pass us now. And we need six to pass Forgeholm to get the coveted 10th spot so our name automatically appears each time one looks at the Leaderboard instead of having to click the Leaderboard to see the top 40. :-)

I heard you loud and clear and in an emergency meeting we therefore decided to rename us to Emerald Lodge to shed any bad reputation that Thod might have.

Okay - on a more serious note - we certainly have outlasted the phase where it was mainly people I knew that joined and that we attracted.

I will do an official name change later tonight or tomorrow and update our description but though I post a heads up here.

We also have a webpage - too long that we have been the only one in the top 20 without one:

http://emeraldlodge.guildlaunch.com/

More to come in the next days

Scarab Sages Goblin Squad Member

We could have compromised, and become the Emerald Thodge.
Since his avatar is green.
Albeit a sort of Snot Green*, rather than a translucent jewel-green.

*Still got several pots of that; Citadel paint naming systems have always been quite evocative.

Scarab Sages Goblin Squad Member

Another person on the roster; equal numbers with Hammerfall, but they take 11th place, by virtue of registering earlier.

11 more needed to oust Forgeholm from the number 10 spot.

Need to get some contact info for some of those 1 or 2-person Pathfinder-flavoured guilds.

Scarab Sages Goblin Squad Member

Tried searching Paizo forums, and general googlesearch, but no results for any of those groups, except being referred to by others, such as us.

Have to hope they see our group and decide to join in the later stages.

Goblin Squad Member

Have you guys decided on a new name for the Emerald Spire Base Camp yet? I have a selfish reason for asking: Caldeathe's Excellent Spreadsheet is going to keep getting wider each week, so I'm hunting for even small width-savings on the left side of the sheet.

Scarab Sages Goblin Squad Member

Well we voted on the guild name 'The Emerald Lodge', but that change hasn't happened on the Guild Rush board yet.

Not sure if that'll be a catch-all name for the location as well. I've been out the loop dealing with two birthdays.

<hugs> Congrats! Have a Groundlings cider on the house! Clearly we both have our work cut out for us, and recruiting is such thirsty work...

My failure to rename and rewrite. Was doing other stuff during the weekend. But good reminder - but will wait where Kabal is going and if anything changes in our position before sending it.

How did I miss the vote? Was it by email?

(known to the guild as Basilican)

Yes - invitations went out by e-mail. I had added you to the list - but possibly an earlier one was used.

No worry - we slowly get better organized and still time to sort these bits out before the game starts.

Prepare the tavern, Lion Council will visit you soon. VERY SOON.

Could I bring our friends too?

Nops, they won't. What is the point to bring cake to a tavern???

The cake is a lie.

Scarab Sages Goblin Squad Member

Well, we rose one place.

What happened to Kabal? They lost a few members, and slipped back underneath us.

Goblin Squad Member

They're husbanding their strength for the weekend push?

Sczarni Goblin Squad Member

With all the changes taking place Thod's Friends soon to become Emerald Lodge Cordially invites smaller companies to join with us to become tower guardians.
As the connecting settlement will only be able to concentrate on 2 classes we will shortly be taking stock to support the largest number of members.

So join with us

I personally will be voting for one class to be mage but these are early days so who knows.

Scarab Sages Goblin Squad Member

Wha-hey! Three more members since yesterday.

Jumped up a place, to 11 (8 if you discount the LR1 leaders).
Who are the new members, I wonder?
And did they leave another guild, to do so?

Oh, the mystery.....

Grand Lodge Goblin Squad Member

Been slow ...

I spend the weekend GMing twice Rise from the Sands and went on a large walk with the whole family yesterday - but at least I take care to check in before the week moves on.

Yep - before the midnight deadline. Not like Open Road which the second time in a row seems to miss a place in the top 30 (33).

Don't mind me, just prepping a Harrowing for tonight.

The Choosing: 1d3 ⇒ 21d3 ⇒ 2The Foreign Trader
(neutral, Intelligence) is the card of spies and peddlers alike. Any who trade in information are subject to this card's influence. A bargain made under this card's auspice always concludes true, but the ramifications of the pact might be shocking for those who do not understand its implications.

Positive Past: 1d6 ⇒ 41d3 ⇒ 31d3 ⇒ 1The Rakshasa
(lawful evil, Intelligence) is the card of dominance and mind control. The creature sitting serenely upon the back of the slave indicates an exterior force imposing itself upon another being's mind. On occasion, the slavery is literal, but more often it is mental enslavement to a force or idea. Misaligned, that enslavement can be cast of in the face of new information.

Positive Present: 1d6 ⇒ 21d3 ⇒ 31d3 ⇒ 1The Avalanche
(lawful evil, Dexterity) is disaster. It is an unthinking, unreasoning thing that overruns all who get in its way. It can represent physical disaster or the disaster that comes from a panicked crowd or other unthinking group or entity. If misaligned, the calamity is likely to be averted, though not without consequence.

Positive Future: 1d6 ⇒ 21d3 ⇒ 31d3 ⇒ 1 duplicate; roll again

Unclear Past: 1d6 ⇒ 61d3 ⇒ 31d3 ⇒ 2The Betrayal
(neutral evil, Charisma) is selfishness incarnate. Envy twists the spirit and leads ultimately to devastation. It can also indicate a person whose loveliness hides an evil heart. Misaligned, the card means self-sacrifice or turning away from the material world and its temptations.

Unclear Present: 1d6 ⇒ 21d3 ⇒ 31d3 ⇒ 2The Crows
(neutral evil, Dexterity) are a dangerous bunch who indicate violent taking of that which is loved. When The Crows appear, murder, theft, or other shocking loss occurs. If misaligned, such acts can be averted or the thievery is a just one.

Unclear Future: 1d6 ⇒ 11d3 ⇒ 31d3 ⇒ 1The Fiend
(lawful evil, Strength) depicts a devil swallowing innocents. It can indicate the deaths of many in a great calamity or, if misaligned, the salvation from the same calamity. The Fiend can also indicate that some sort of dark and intelligent creature is in the area, endangering the populace.

Negative Past: 1d6 ⇒ 51d3 ⇒ 21d3 ⇒ 3The Carnival
(chaotic neutral, Wisdom) is the card of illusions and false dreams. This card can heighten the power of the arcane, but depending on such whimsical forces can be risky. For others, this card depicts imprudent plans or unrealistic ambitions.

Negative Present: 1d6 ⇒ 61d3 ⇒ 11d3 ⇒ 3The Unicorn
(chaotic good, Charisma) is a card that generously offers that which the subject seeks, just as the charger in the picture offers up its fruit. When misaligned, the card means betrayal, poisoning, or a false friend.

Negative Future: 1d6 ⇒ 11d3 ⇒ 31d3 ⇒ 3The Cyclone
(chaotic evil, Strength) is a force that tears through whatever it meets. This disaster does not come in the course of natural order but is one that comes from the plots of intelligent beings. The Cyclone signifies war, arson, or other plans that destroy everything they touch. Misaligned, this card can indicate renewal afar a blustery trial.

REROLL duplicatePositive Future: 1d6 ⇒ 31d3 ⇒ 31d3 ⇒ 2The Sickness
(neutral evil, Constitution) represents plague, pestilence, famine, and disease. It can also indicate corruption of the soul or of a multitude of souls. If misaligned, The Sickness represents either great health or a chance to stop such a disaster.
