Scarab Sages

Fellow gamers, I seek your help. I'm looking for ideas for my next PFS character. I'm looking to play something different and fun. It does not have to be completely min/maxed but needs to be able to contribute to any table.
I have a paladin (healbot) and a alchemist bomber already. I have access to any of the PFS legal races as well as Nagaji and Ifrit.
Ok folks, wow me with your ideas as my creative juices are not flowing right now.

Scarab Sages

Here are some ideas I've used in the past. I know not all of them are legal in PFS, but you could probably modify them to be. Feel free to use any or mix/match.

1)Drakara: TN 1/2 Elf Fighter (unbreakable archetype) Drakara Grew up on the boarder between Kyonin and Andoran where the boarder Dispute was high and the elves and humans were at each other's throats. Growing up disguising himself as a human, Drakara defended the town when the elves attacked, but his helmet got knocked off and the humans assumed he was a spy that led the attack. Drakara fled the area and now has a deep-seeded hate for both elves and humans.

2)Adale Stibbins. LN Undine Monk (Drunken Master archetype) Adale worships Besmara and is completely and utterly devoted to her. He is not so much a 'monk' as he is a 'drunken brawler' and a damn fine sailor. He is fiercely loyal to his friends (his crew) and steadfastly believes that no one should be place above another based solely on birthright.

3)Parvink. CN Gnome Barbarian (no archetype). No, I know. Halflings are not the best barbarians. -2 to strength and -4 to CMD really hurt them. On the other hand, they get bonuses to hit and AC, and a +4 bonus to stealth just for being small (which can be good out of combat). Parvink is a crazy barbarian lady who basically just snapped one day after one too many short jokes, and has earned her name as a ruthless fighter despite her small size.

4) Thermin Ozwin Grundersnutt LN Gnome Oracle (though cleric would work as well.) Thermin is basically the anti-gnome. Dreaming from a young age to be able to be an arcane caster, he simply didn't have the talent for it. However, after years of banging his head against a wall and praying to be able to unlock the secrets of magic, his prayers were finally answered. Irori recognized his passion for knowledge and his strive to make himself better and made Thermin an oracle. Thermin was content to sit in his hometown and do nothing but study arcane and magical theory for the rest of his life, but the early onset of bleaching forced him to go on 'one of those stupid adventure things.' Thermin is a caster-oracle, and should NEVER be in melee combat.

a LG dwarf stone oracle with a couple of levels in barbarian. you can move through stone, see through it so you can prepare and buff out in the hallway, and wielding a dwarven dorn dergar in heavy armor you with be able to heal to save a life in combat, use wands out, it comes with a large amount of spells, can swing on something and if need be rage to put some extra umph! behind it. the dorn dergar is like a cannonball attached to a chain and with a feat you could change it from a reach weapon to a % foot range weapon if backed into a corner. its different, and can be effective in both a divine caster or front line combat.

a CG half elf cleric of Desna with decent martial prowess then around 7 go into Holy Vindicator and get a phylactory of positive energy to add 2d6 to channels. go extra channel one at the same level as your first HV. at 1st HV you can channel a bonus into your shield (by level 11 a regular buckler has as much of an armor bonus as full plate) equal to the number of die you channel and it lasts for 24 hours or until hit. Most of the time your AC will be so high only the boss or a lucky crit will hit you. that way your a very proficient healer both in and out of combat, you will be able to sit back and cast buffs or deal with debuffs on the paty, and you will be able to step up and hit something if all else fails, and later you will be almost impossible to hit through most encounters.

both are unique and fill the same roll.

or if you wanted o have a Gish character with arcane spells you could go for Dragon Disciple. you lose the emergency healing but can a list full of battlefield contol spells.

Play a straight human core-class character. Give the character a fun and likeable personality, and an interesting backstory. Break the stereotype of the character class, but retain the abilities that the class needs to be. Be someone whom other player-characters say 'we like having him (her) in our party.

I mostly second this. Go with the Human Urban Ranger/Bard. You could focus on ranged combat or even do a switch hitter. This is PFS so you don't need to go to overboard.

My first PFS character was a Human Urban Ranger(switch hitter). Skills/Knowledges/Good Melee/Good Ranged. I made him a sort of Urban Spelunker/Mapper Explorer type. Very fun character and not to min/maxed. When i was done building him he just seemed like a "Pathfinder". Frankly he has been the only character i've had who made any sense why they even were in the society.

What is lacking in your PFS area?

I've found Magus to be fun to play and very versatile in builds. Allowing you to make a build for the style you want to play in.

You can try one of the new playtest characters. The free RPG game day is coming up next month and you'll have a chance to play 4 of the new classes at level 3 if someone in your area is running the game.
Only problem with this suggestion is that when the book does come out, there will be a flood of these classes starting at level 1.

This part is rumor that I've made no effort to confirm
I have heard next PFS year will be the year of the Undead and deals a lot with Osirion faction. No idea if it's true or not. If it is (or find some info about what's coming up if it is not true), build your character around the up-coming events.

A gnome Inquisitor of Nivi Rombodazzle (and get offended when people don't say it right or pronounce it in full), probably using a longbow. Is it optimized, no, but nobody expects the Gnomish Inquisition!

Maybe a character from a comic series or movie that took your fancy?
I have a character based loosely on one from dark horse's Aliens series.
