The Exalted Bastards - Reavers of Chaos' Reign
Role - Feudal Specialists Dealing Retribution
Alignment - Chaotic Evil
Motto: "When Heads Start Rolling, People Get Polite... Too Late!"
Focus - PvP
Settlement - Aragon (CN)

Leadership: The Goodfellow, Xeen

This is a group that will specialize in the use of the Feud System to slaughter their enemies. The members of this division, also known as "RoCRs", never show mercy in combat and they are strictly motivated by the bloodlust to kill.

Unlike their Aragonian brethren, The UnNamed Company, members of The Exalted Bastards do not seek profit or rob for their own gain, however if the coin presents itself they will certainly take it. They align themselves with vengeful causes and can be hired to advance them.

Who Should Join The Exalted Bastards?

The Exalted Bastards is a great group for someone looking to participate in feuds, wars, and are willing to travel far and wide throughout the River Kingdoms. Our primary content will be:

• Feuds/small-group PvP
• Anti-slaver factional warfare
• Pro- revenge / retribution PVP without mercy.
• Outpost and POI destruction.

* The ability to maintain a moderate reputation for all members of The Exalted Bastards is very important. The argument has been made that playing Chaotic Evil can not be done easily while still maintaining a decent reputation. The Exalted Bastards will prove that it can!

To join, please apply to the UnNamed Company and specify that you would like to become a member of The Exalted Bastards.

Also, please be sure to vote for our home settlement of Aragon in the land rush.

Best of luck, Bastards. Ryan's said Chaotic Evil can be done, if with difficulty, and many of us want to hear more about the experiences of folks with the patience and self-discipline to try it.

Any relation to the Gentleman Bastards?

Good luck in game and have a free !bump! from me - we may not always see eye to eye, but I do have a grudging respect for those who choose to play this role well.

I've added your Guild to the Guild Recruitment & Helpful Links list, alongside Aragon and the other Companies you've announced. If you have a brief description you'd like to appear there to let people know about your guild while they're browsing that list, just PM me or post a clear request here.

So, Rockers eh? That's cool, I also like to listen to heavy metal while I game.

The UnNamed Company (CN) is now complete with its three divisions:

UnNamed Company (CN) = Raiding / Banditry PVP Focus
The Vigilant (CG) = Warriors for Freedom and Nature
The Exalted Bastards (CE) = Feud Warfare Specialists Dealing Retribution

Although at this time the UNC is the big umbrella, recruits are asked to apply to the specific division. All members can mix grouping as they wish, as long as their own moral fabric permits.... ;-}

Actually, I came up with the acronym after writing it and my first thought was one of my favorite movies "Rocknrolla".

Great movie. Good luck!

So the plan is to keep you rep high enough so that you don't become 'content' as we have been told CE will be? Wont you have to do rep lowering things to remain CE alignment?

Goblin Squad Member

I think the fairest way to think of PFO is that we're all each other's content :-). I'll let the folks planning to walk the tightrope address the Alignment-vs-Reputation balance-factors, as I'm sure they've taken far more time to think on it than I.

I have never said that CE will be anyone's content. Others will be our content while we are playing CE. This is no different than any other alignment.

Lawful Evil assassins will make their victims their content. Lawful Good clerics will make the enemies of their religious faction their content.

I realize the intent of those who fear CE, and want to make them everyone's content it simply won't happen that way.

As far as having to do low rep things to remain CE, the answer is "No".

So you would see our enemies in the game mostly being groups that the group we join have chosen to make an enemy, instead of it being a random hunt for someone to make an enemy?

I believe Notmyrealname was referring to statements like this from Ryan:

There is no good reason to play a chaotic evil character except if you like being other people's content.
I think any time a CE character shows up anywhere accessible to a wide cross section of players, the CE character is going to die. They're other people's content and there will be more people trying to kill them than there will be CE characters.

Etc.

Basically, it is mostly speculation at this point because NO ONE knows the ins and outs of alignment at this point, at least not to the level they will be in game. We have assumptions based on what ryan and others have said concerning it, specifically towards CE, but still nothing is for sure.

It is our goal to place CE, and do it in a meaningful mannor that isn't Chaotic stupid and not at -rep. If that isn't possible within game mechanics, then this division will likely be dropped. Until such time, here we are.

As for being each other's content, I think the main reason ryan was saying "being CE is being other people's content" is because the most common way to gain and maintain this alignment is to do things that also lower rep and cause PVP flags, making you vulnerable to other people at their leisure. In that manner, yes we will be other people's content. But in the grander picture, we will all be each other's content in one for or another.

I understand where he is getting the idea, but I think Ryan's view on playing CE lacks imagination and that is a failing on his part.

A mercenary company for CE players would be a great way to redirect jerks who end up CE into a more useful player . They want to kill so they are perfect for merc company that will hire out for any job. You just need to find a way to recruit them and they can still do what they like and be turned away from random killing for lulz.

So this company could be a real help to community building.

One thing I would imagine comparing CE Mercs vs Any other aligned merc is that the CEs would work for less. Their motivation is not the coin, but the killing.

Just curious here, why did you choose the word "Exalted" in your company name? Is there a specific reason, or just because it has a nice ring to it?

I dig on this. I hope it is successful. Solid work on putting CE/CN/and CG under one chaotic umbrella.

Probably for just the reason you think he used it and yes if approved the name as well. I'd prefer to have my intellectual creations in the hands of my allies. The Exalted and The Vigilant were two which I still felt in the position to revoke.

Because I'm fully capable of being a CE wise arse. You must recall Andius' group that was going to hunt the UNC down was to be called the Exalted. This is my good natured poke at the good old days.

Goblin Squad Member

I see. Thanks for the clarification; I wasn't even thinking along those lines.

Plus what Andius wrote. I had a similar thing happen to me in STO. I created everything involved with the Klingon Fleet, from name to logo and motto, uniforms and multiple reoccurring events. I've been gone for over 3 years and they haven't changed a thing.

Lame in my book.

Goblin Squad Member

Man I played STO for like a week and didn't find it fun at all. Seemed so unbearably slow. I liked the idea of the space combats but it felt so awkward.

The Exalted Bastards - Reavers of Chaos' Reign
Role - Feud Specialists Dealing Retribution
Alignment - Chaotic Evil
Motto: "When Heads Start Rolling, People Get Polite... Too Late!"
Focus - PvP
Settlement - Aragon (CN)

Leadership: The Goodfellow, Xeen

The Exalted Bastards is the first declared Chaotic Evil division / company in PFO. We take this challenge and responsibility very seriously.

Players of these kinds of characters will have to be at the top of their role playing game, to convince the skeptics. Victory can only be achieved by proving them wrong. Failure is found in giving them what they expected all along.

If you feel you are up to the challenge of playing chaotic evil, without resorting to Chaotic Stupid or "I kill everything in sight without any sense of meaningfulness", you are what we are looking for.

Join Aragon today, a settlement with so much concentrated PvP power and such efficient leadership that even members of an alliance with over 7 times our membership fear the ease which with we can overcome our opponents.

Do you want to be a part of a group that inspires that kind of fear? Do you want to be forged into a warrior that powerful? Join Aragon today and run with the wolves!

Gather your riff raff Fallen One. You will be my content Andius Meuridiar.

Andius is Chaotic Good, is that really that much of a fall from Neutral Good?

Goblin Squad Member

Probably Chaotic-Neutral. I have the feeling wildshape Druids may be an incredible PvP build. Plus of lycanthropy ever makes it into the game... ;)

Don't you have to get clearance to say that from Bluddwolf first?

We are the only group in PFO to setup a Company such as this. It is worth talking with us about it and learning about the actual type of players you would be working with.

Goblin Squad Member

Do you want to join companies who's version of PvPers are FPS players with Military Stewards whom tout their experience in Jr. ROTC, or companies with members who have lead their groups to military victories in Open World PvP games, and whom boast real US Military combat veterans among their ranks?

Don't be fooled by the groups claiming experience when many of their leaders have never headed groups in these types of games (or indeed any games at all for some of them) before.

Aragon's leadership has REAL experience and can lead you to real victories.

Join us today.

There's no need to compulsively talk about other player groups in your own recruitment thread. People are going to start thinking you have a crush on someone.

What is so challenging about playing Chaotic Evil, you ask?

You'd usually be correct to assume that CE can be played by just being a random killing asshat. That is not the intentions of...
