Sawtooth Sabre and TWF question

Rules Questions

Ok, so I'm looking at the Sawtooth Sabre right now and how it works.

First part seems clear, if I have the EWP for it, it counts as a light weapon for TWF, so I only take a -2 to attacks.

So far so clear.

Now, for all other purposes it counts as a one handed weapon. Does that mean, I do still add my full Strength bonus to the damage, or my normal Power Attack bonus?

Or is the only advantage of using it that you can use a 1d8 in both hands, instead of a 1d6 and still get Weapon Focus etc in a single feat?

The weapon category doesn't affect damage modifiers in TWF. Only main hand / off hand does that: Main hand gets full strength and power attack, off hand gets half. Whether the weapon is light or one handed is irrelevant, except for whether or not you take -4 or -2 if used in your off hand.

"Or is the only advantage of using it that you can use a 1d8 in both hands, instead of a 1d6 and still get Weapon Focus etc in a single feat?"

Yeah that's about it.

More or less, except:

Should you, at some point, only wield one you could use both hands to get 1-1/2 str bonus to damage.
Your weapons are onehanded when it comes to HP/hardness etc.

In many regards it is similar to wielding a double weapon except you have the option to switch to one-handed fighting if you need your off-hand for something else.

This means you could wield twin Impact weapons. That's kinda neat.

In two-weapon fighting, the only important thing about the weapons you use, in regards to penalties, is if the off-hand weapon is Light, or not Light.

That's it.

Basically it's just letting use an EWP feat for the level 11 class feature of the Two Weapon Warrior archetype.

It's a nifty weapon, but it's not that much better other options. I would never use one if you are playing on Golarion though, as it's the signature weapon of the Red Mantis Assassins, which has some pretty significant RP disadvantages if you are mistaken for them.

The kuru barbarian pirate I'm planning to make, who's probably going to use this weapon, wouldn't be mistaken for a Red Mantis.
And if, it would probably be an improvement ;) Of course the Red Mantis might not like it.

It's just a weapon that I think is cool and looks fearsome, enough reason to use it.

Of course the feat requirements for TWF + EWP is quite bad... :(

Grand Lodge

Of course, you should have two Sawback Sawtooth Sabres.
