Besides, Wally West started out as Kid Flash. It's appropriate to have a younger actor playing him.

On a different crossover note, Flash is rumored to be making an appearance in May on Supergirl (now that Supergirl has been picked up for a full season). I'm looking forward to seeing how they do it, since neither Flash/Arrow has indicated that Superman exists in their universe. I'm assuming Earth-2 (or 3, etc.)

Although the producers have already denied that rumor, so I wouldn't be getting your hopes up.

Scarab Sages

If there is anything ever done with it, I'm guessing Supergirl would be from an entirely different reality beyond Arrowverse prime and Earth-2.

I doubt it's going to happen, but Constantine proved anything is possible.

Sovereign Court

OH MAN that would be freaking awesome.

What could possibly go wrong from playing with chemicals In The DCU?

Good point. After all, Jay could have refused to help Wells, period.

That was my first impression. I didn't see him as a jerk... I saw it as really heroic actually.

Jay: "I don't like him...'

jay: 'I don't trust him'

Jay "I certainly don't trust his serum'

Caitlin: "He'll die without help'

Jay: /Immediately shoots chemical into arm

He went against everything he thought was right to save the life of his enemy. As soon as he was done... he was done. But when push came to shove, he was still a hero.

We DO have one instance of a chemical formula working properly in the DC universe (comic, not TV) - Hourman.

OK, so I did remember the equation right.

HAH! Take THAT old-timer's! (Erm,... Alzheimers,...) :P

HOURMAN! Yes! Him! That formula does/did work as intended. If only for short periods of time. (IE=HOURman) ;P

IIRC, he couldn't take it back to back either, he had to wait in between Miraclo pills. (Another hour I think?) Leading to interesting problems in the comics when his pill would wear off, but he still had bad guys to defeat.

Well to be fair, Hourman's son became the second one... and became horribly addicted and they were killing him...

So maybe not a PERFECT formula :P

This was an excellent thing! It really showed Jay's character, and that he's not the coward Wells2 always claims he is.

Just kind of thinking out loud.

If Jay goes back to Earth 2, I wonder if his speed comes back. And whether Barry would have super speed on Earth 2.

I imagine at some point we'll get to find out. IF that is the case, it would raise an interesting question - Why does Zoom have super speed no matter which Earth he's on?

I'm wondering that as well. Unless Zoom can match frequencies of the various earths, or if he generates his own speed force.

I have to say I'd sure love to see more of Earth 2. (and whatever other earths there are).

I remember Jay saying they had an Atlantis and his helmet was his father's from when he fought in "The War of the America's."

And they have "Gorilla City" too.

I really think the quality of the scripting is a little lower than season one. But I also think this show is the most ... faithful? Not afraid of the genre? Willing to go way out there of any show I've ever seen.

Multiple earth's, time travel, 4000 year old men (though I think he shouldn't be linked to the Hawks - Savage is a Cro Magnon, darn it - though aren't we all?)

This show is willing to go there with no apologies. I love that and it keeps me watching. Still see a lot more plot holes and crazy dialogue at times than season one.

And is Barry determined to let everyone on Earth 1 know he is the Flash?

He let Hawkgirl know because Cisco said his name. Team Arrow already knew, mostly.

Sovereign Court

Cisco for god's sake...

Liberty's Edge

She was bound to find out when she joins the JSA anyway...

LOL,
When Cisco said Barry's name, his reaction was perfect.

They kept calling the formula 'Velocity -6'

yep, I think it was Hath-set... which they actually called Savage at one point. So they've essentially combined the two characters.

I was more wondering where they found the time to get a beaker with a custom-printed label with all the shooting and life-saving going on.

Scarab Sages

Good episode.

Spoiler:
Loved the team up between Weather Wizard and Trickster. Mardon was good enough, but Hamill has James Jesse was so over the top awesome! He brings a lot of his old Joker performance into it, and it pays off. Their plan was a good one, even if the goal was unsurprising. All in all, that part had a really classic comic story feel to it.

The bits with Zoom and Wells2 were…interesting. I don’t blame the dude. He’s scared. It’s gonna suck when he betrays the Flash, but I hope he redeems himself. My one problem with that scene near the end, when Zoom brought him his daughter – Wells2 keeps saying how smart he is. I’m surprised he didn’t try to develop some kind of modulating forcefield he could turn on as soon he was hugging his daughter. Or maybe some kind of teleportation device to instantly take the two of them away. But I guess fear for his daughter’s life has really hampered his capabilities.

I wonder, however, if they didn’t just give some clue as to how Zoom can be defeated. Maybe he needs to consume speed force to maintain his own existence. Maybe he is just pure speed energy, given form and malevolent will. I wonder if they’d have to completely cut Barry off, then somehow find a way to drain Zoom of what he’s probably already stolen. Or maybe they’ll have to find a way to overload him.

As for the personal bits: I’m glad to see Patty and Barry still going strong and developing a deeper relationship. I’m glad to see Iris come clean to Joe about Francine and Wally, and that Joe seems to have found closure with his ex-wife. I loved the little bits with Cisco urging Jay and Caitlin to just get it on already. That was some funny stuff, and why I continue to find him being one of my favorite characters.

Actually, Hamill brings his old Trickster performance into it.

I hope this Wally keeps the goofy humor I've gotten used to from DCAU and YJ.

It's true that he did originate a Trickster character on the old 1990 Flash TV series, but that was only a handful of episodes. Whereas he's done Joker far longer. It's been a long while since I've seen the old Flash stuff, but I'd say what he started in that show was carried over into, and perfected during, his time as Joker.

In season one when they did the Trickster episode, they reused the props from the 90's trickster from the original show for the lair, and used footage from that episode in a news report comparing the new Trickster to the original.

Mark Hamill in this show is the Trickster from the 90's show.

By that logic, Henry Allen is the original Barry Allen/Flash.

I don't know what kind of budget they have for special effects, but whoever does it is incredible. The part where Barry runs and springs off the helicopter blade is great.

But that brings me to something else. They suck up all the bombs in the presents and send them... somewhere (hope no one was on the other end).

Because magnets? That is without a doubt the stupidest thing I've ever seen. I know this is comic book science but come on. And not one got hung up on anything?

That was just dumb.

I think they missed a one liner though. Cisco could have said: "Magnets. How do they work?" instead of the one he actually said about magnets.

He is, in Earth-47 or whatever. The Mark Hamill Trickster of the 90's in Earth-1 is identical to the Trickster in that universe, with the exception that the Flash wasn't around in that timeline so the cops had to do it themselves.

Great episode... (Well, except for the magnet thing, but I've resigned to the fact that villain battle solution will be crap 99% of the time in this series, so whatever).

It's great to see Spartacus Liam McIntyre again. And Mark Hamill is freaking awesome as usual. It's cool that they finally revealed (part of) Zoom's motive, though it's a bit disappointing that it's basically the same as the Reverse Flash's. But IIRC, Zoom's have Wally West's powers of "Speed Force Manipulation", so it makes sense.

I like it that Iris sin't as annoying as she was in the past too. Wally showing up was awesome! I was expecting it to be a villain or maybe Barry's father... In hindsight, I probably should've seen it coming, but still, it was a great surprise.

I was amazed when the Wests didn't think to invite him over for the holidays to get to know him.

Great episode, really loved Trickster & Weather Wizard combo. I hope next half season will show us Rogues together, with Weather Wizard, Captain Cold, Heatwave, Golden Gilder and Mirror Master, who's supposed to come this season too.

Liberty's Edge RPG Superstar 2008 Top 32, 2011 Top 16

Considering that Captain Cold and Heatwave are going to be part of Legends of Tomorrow, I wouldn't expect them at all in the 2nd half of the Flash. Possibly in a crossover episode, but not as part of the rogues at least.

That would have been pretty awkward though... not only meet your dad for the first time... and your sister... and the pseudo-adopted brother raised in your place...

BUT... all their friends and co-workers at the same time?? Talk about shining a spotlight on the dysfunction O.O

Yeah, catching up with him a little at a time... first dad, then sis, then barry would have been a much smoother transition.

Add in Mom MAY not be dead yet... but probably won't make another Christmas??

Frankly, it's the joker performance that he's getting paid for ;)

As a Joker, he's pretty awesome. As the trickster??? He makes a great Joker.

Trickster was never that bloodthirsty or psychotic. He was a lot more like their version of Captain Cold. In it for the money... That was one of the weird out of character thing they did the 90's show and is purely Hamill... Love seeing him show up... but NOT a great James Jesse.

Yeah, I have to wonder about which Caitlin we'll see in the Killer Frost persona. It could be the Caitlin we all know an love, but it might be a bit much to say both Earth1 Wells' assistants were granted powers by the dark matter.

I'd say you're spot on with the Earth 2 idea, and it'll be really cool when Barry finds out the hard way during his inevitable visit to Earth 2.

Scarab Sages

There was a glimpse of Killer Frost during the season one finale. That could have been a possible future of Earth-1, or a bleed-over from Earth-2. Hard to say.
