Just a moment ago servers must have been rebooting or some such, because I got the "Website is down" page.
It includes this image: http://paizo.com/image/splash/servergoblins.jpg
I love that image. Made me smile. Who painted/drew it? Is that a "CF" in the lower right corner, and am I correct in guessing that it's a Crystal Fraiser drawing?
Yup! Those goblins were indeed drawn by Crystal! She keeps hearing that she needs to draw more from more than one Paizo person >_>
Speaking of, I've been seeing that image a lot today. This is the second or third time within the last few hours. Is the website okay?

We're in the process of fixing a handful of pernicious bugs that are causing both exceptions and performance problems. We're nearly done with testing the fixes so ideally this stuff will go away soon.

You guys are great, I was mostly just hoping the site was going to alright. :)
(Also, it is a good picture.)
Been down quite a bit in the last 24, including sporadically right now.
So how are those glitch fixes coming?
Oh this is a different thing. Trying to resolve it but some hardware is acting up a bit.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Aliens reference ftw
And IT Crowd obv.
My own advice is to give the hardware a stern telling off, remind it of it's proper function and reason for existing, and meaningfully lift a wrench or blowtorch.
That ought to do the trick. You're welcome!
I'm less than computer literate but I suspect the site has been hacked. There are quite a few SPAM messages populating my private message box. I also posted this under it's own thread to make sure Paizo was aware of the situation.

We marked the location with whiteout for future reference.

Someone can send spam PMs just by registering an account, same as posting messageboard spam.
The site was not hacked. These spammers are actual people, unfortunately.

Sadly, as long as the account-creation process can easily be automated there is no incentive for the spammers to go elsewhere. :( They don't care about CAPTCHAs - they're usually actual human beings nowadays from third world countries, paid peanuts to manually answer any CAPTCHA questions that come up during account creation.

My guess would be that the servers are straining along with the rest of Paizo as they deal with not only summer convention season, but also the biggest and most complicated set of shipping orders they've ever had thanks to the kickstarted stuff.
Not a bad guess. There were actually some hardware problems whose symptoms weren't easily diagnosed and that vexed me for a couple of days. Seems like I fixed it that last time, though. So now I can get a good nights sleep. ^_^
