There's a selection of folks in Sandpoint who would know about Thassilon and its relationship to Varisia. Besides Quink, Ilsoari Gandethus, Sabyl Sorn and a few others would be the most likely to let the party know the basics. I introduced Quink as scatterbrained and dismissive of the accepted history, completely sure of his outlandish theories. Everyone else in town thinks he's nuts. That didn't stop the wizard from studying under him, though.

It actually just occurred to me after reading this that I could create another historian, a "respectable" academic from Magnimar. He would turn out not to know as much as Quink though. Instead he would have a mastery of the basics of Thassilonian history but would also have a good Charisma and bluff and diplomacy. So he is more "presentable" than Quink but ends up being less useful; perhaps the player can eventually expose his lack of knowledge.

In campaign traits, one such available is the scholar of the ancients. How much information does this trait allow for 1st level PC'S access to information on the Thassilonian lore?
I'm just hazy as to how much I can give out to the PC'S when it comes to Thassilonian history.
Thanks!
Information should be sparse and generalized until they find...
After that, they should have all the information they need to get them to the end.
