What I love most about this thread is there are polar opposites listed among the posters. Between the PRD and the $9.99 cost of the CRB and other core books, you can get into Pathfinder for very little cost.
Then again, the quality is so great on their other products (their APs in particular) that you can also justify spending quite a bit of money if you have the extra cash free to spend.
The quality of the available gaming products from Paizo and related Kickstarters these days is incredible. I look back over older 1st-3rd ED adventures and, while there are a few stellar standouts and some really cool ideas, it is nothing like the steady stream of NPCs, cool adventures, etc that are coming out today.
I myself have everything Paizo made up until about Skull and Shackles, then I tapered off with the spending. Even so, I looking at their future product releases has been eagerly anticipating the next year's goodies.

I just started playing in late 2012, and I've only allotted myself $10 per month on roleplaying games. I throw in any gift or birthday money I receive and money for mowing my neighbor's lawn and raking her leaves.
I now own one module, the Core Rulebook, Varisia: Birthplace of Legends, three pawn sets, one flip map, and the Beginner Box. A few PDFs as well.
Lol. That's how I started back in 1980. I saved up for my Dragon subscription with leaf-raking money. I think I got the DMG as a Christmas gift to myself with the money I got from relatives.

I did that for a long time working with just the Beta PRD and then the PRD while using older edition stuff, then getting a bunch of the $10 corebook and bestiary PDFs one at a time and a bunch of third party PDFs. I had run a few campaigns using 3e modules before I even got a hardcover core book.
It was the same way with 3.5 and the original draft srd for me and a big reason I delayed checking out 4e for years was the lack of an srd.
WotC, Paizo, and a bunch of 3rd party companies have gotten a lot of money from me over time thanks in large part to the convenience of the free srds and ability to not need anything to still game.

I'll flat out admit that I never bought as many adventures/modules or campaign centered stuff with any other game. One thing that Paizo does with Pathfinder is that (at least for me) they make it fun to read.

I don't have a whole lot of stuff because I've been playing only a year. But so far I've got all the bestiaries including the inner sea bestiary, ultimate equipment, game mastery guide, inner sea world guide for books. I also have the jade regent, carrion crown, weapons locker, adventurer's gear and wondrous items treasure decks. Also I've got a few flip maps: the arena, 2 map set with flat battlefields, the battle map with a bridge on one side and a desert on the other, hellscapes, seedy tavern, and city barracks. I've also got some of the floppy tile sets: wizard's tower, dark forest, shops, and hellscapes. As for 4.0, I've got some tile sets: the dungeon, the wilderness, and the city. And also the 4.0 monster box set which we use for marking the players and monsters on maps.
I think that covers it. I'm thinking of getting some miniatures in the future. Also at some point I need to get the crb.
