Psychic Warrior Secondary Path puzzlement

Rules say "The psychic warrior may only have two path powers in total from a single given path..."

Can someone clarify what this phrase is saying exactly? Any given path seems to only offer two powers. So is it that, should I choose a path power from a second path, I must give one of my old ones up? The sentence is unclear to me.

That's a different path.
Pretty sure that line is just insurance in case some path ever comes with three or more.

Exactly, it's a forward-thinking rule. It leaves room to grow the paths at a later date, either through supplemental expansions, archetypes or what have you, without also growing the base power level.
