Let me start out by saying... I love this feat, even as written i am going to take it with a neutral summoner type i have. Adds variety, Adamantine DR is nothing to sneeze at, some of the some monster options are cheeky its a good (haha) feat.
My question is, was it written as intended. The preeminent neutral summoning class is, the Druid, they can default any spell they have to the summon natures ally equivalent. And yes for pure summoning power the Summoner class is better, without question, but the Druid is the Neutral stand out...the champions of balance so to speak. so...
Was the feat intended to work with both Summon Nature'Ally spell and Summon Monster or JUST Summon Monster.
Not debating the RAW, I just want to know the designers intent with this feat since leaving the Druid out seems a bit off for a book call 'Champions of Balance'.

I think it was only meant for Summon Monster. It's in the name, otherwise it probably would've been called Neutral Summons, or Neutral Summoning or something. Compare to the feat names for other summoning-related feats like Augment Summons and Moonlight Summons, or Summon Good Monster for another feat that doesn't do anything for Nature's Allies.
That said, yeah, Druids are missing out here.

OP: works JUST for summon monster, so those that summon ally are out of luck.
Murdock Mudeater: Yep, feats that affect summoning work with that ability. What's cool is that the feats that require summon ally like Starlight Summons will work with it to as they work on summoning spells but don't say one of the other kind. So take the aasimar subrace that has a summon nature allies SLA and you can pick all those kind of spells for your summoner.

Thanks.
On a side note, you enjoying Summon Evil Monster?
There is one, though it doesn't seem to be on the d20pfsrd site. Champions of Corruption, I'm pretty sure.
been a bit since i looked at it. I don't recall anything super-special in it.
The other site don't seem to have it up yet so I can't double check right now since i'm not on the computer with my PDF's.

Nothing super special, but it does have a much longer list than the neutral monster one. Though unlike the neutral monster one, the feat only applies to monsters on the list, not just ones with a certain template.

Now that I look at it, it doesn't have any real standouts in the lower level summons. In fact, the level one's are all fiendish monsters which is mighty lame.
Most notably is that monsters summoned from that list are summoned as Standard actions. It can't attack the turn it arrives, but it makes interrupting the casting more difficult.
