Currently playing in Council of Thieves and our PCs are dropping frequently. I need to make a new guy to replace my wizard. Other party members are life oracle, bomb alchemist, ranger, inquisitor. I was thinking of making a bard to maintain the arcane buffs, but with a little more physical prowess and this is what I came up with.

Please note that some of the skill/spell choices are choices are based on the context of the adventure path. My plan is the maintain *most* of the support of the bard class, but still be able to contribute significantly in combat with a reach weapon. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Gallant Inspiration isn't that great because it overlaps with inspire courage or inspire competence. I don't know CoT, but I suspect something like invisibility or blur would be handy or maybe mirror image.

It might be better to masterwork your cestus, longsword, and shortbow than to +1 your longspear.

Inspire Courage is a morale bonus and doesn't effect skill rolls anyway. Inspire Competence isn't something that may be feasible to use very often and doesn't affect the bard. Regardless, invisibility probably is a good choice.

This. Mirror Image is the best defensive spell in the game. Take it.

Additionally, you don't have your Dex mod added in on AC which makes it a more respectable 19. And personally, I'd move a rank from Climb (which really doesn't need more than one) to whatever Performance you're going to get as a Versatile Performance at 6th (preferably Acting or Comedy for Bluff, I'd think), that saves you a rank next level, and adds verisimilitude so you're not suddenly an amazing Actor (or whatever) out of nowhere.

Good call. Also, dropping the weapon enchantment will allow me to afford a composite bow
