Intimidation boosting items (PFS)

Advice

I am making a slayer who intends to intimidate with couragan smash, then shatter defenses. I believe I'm set with feats, and traits, but I am trying to figure out what exists in terms of items.

I know the stone mask exists to give bluff a good boost, and perhaps something exists that could greatly help intimidate?

EDIT: My character is in PFS, so if that can be kept in mind, that would be great when making suggestions.

Liberty's Edge

You should be able to get a Masterwork tool easily enough for a +2 circumstance bonus - there is a mask in a PFS scenario that provides that bonus.

If your GM let's you buy/make custom magic items you should be able to create one with a +5 competence bonus to Intimidate.

I have no idea what Masterwork tool exists for helping intimidate

Do you know what scenario has that mask, or what that mask is called?

Grand Lodge

Masterwork Tool is in the Core.

Liberty's Edge

A masterwork tool is a non-magical item, perfect for a given purpose, that can give a +2 circumstance to the skill. Masterwork thieves tools and a healer's kit are examples. You can buy masterwork tools for other skills and purposes, assuming your GM doesn't mind, for 50 gold.

PFS scenario:
'Assault on Kingdom of the Impossible' is the scenario, and the item is the Mask of the Tiger's Eye, for 55 gold.

I never bothered to look into masterwork tool, and just associated climbers kits and stuff that were pre-existing to be associated with this. I didn't know someone could make one, but I don't think there is any legal way to use this in PFS.

So, unless I play that scenario, I can't purchase that item, correct?

The Exchange

cackling hag's blouse +2 competence bonus to intimidate...expensive
I wouldn't go with any face items as I find +5 perception from eyes of the eagle far more useful
circlet of persuasion +3 to all CHA skills

I've looked at a lot of intimidate features...my 6th level intimidation build has a +27 intimidate

Masterwork tools are legal in PFS.

Other options are fairly limited. They include:

Hag's Shabble, 3400gp for a +2 bonus

Holy Mask of the Living God, 2100gp for a +2 bonus

Maw of the Wyrm, 18000gp for a +4 bonus

Dead Mans Headband, 3600gp, +2 bonus and a +1DC to any fear effects

Lion Cloak, 12000gp and a +2 bonus

Intimidate boosting items are pretty limited.

I'm talking about just making one up to accommodate a skill

Yes and that is allowed in PFS, it is part of the CRB. You may need to explain what it is and as a circumstance bonus there may be situations in which it does not apply but they are absolutely legal. As an example I use a pair of glasses as my Perception masterwork tool and they apply to pretty much any visual based perception check I might make. Obviously they are no help if I am listening at a door to hear what might be behind it.

Grand Lodge

Magenta Prism Cracked Ioun Stone. +2 800gp

Also, it's bonus is changeable.

There is the "Circlet of Persuasion". It's a plus +3 on all CHR based skills. So a +3 to intimidate as it's CHR based.

Nice mention of ioun stone. There are some very good stones out there that dont cost a ton and really add some nice little bumps to stats/skills.

P.S. there should be a bonus to intimidate if you carry a big stick :)

If you use a weapon, you can throw Ominous on there to add the enhancement bonus to your Intimidate checks. It's unclear based on other discussions whether you'd need to be actively wielding the ominous weapon to get its benefit and, if so, what that would mean; still, you can always get the benefit in combat.

A raging barbarian with a +5 Ominous Furious Human-Bane Greatsword could be rocking +9 to intimidate checks while raging (assuming that's allowed) against humans. I'm pretty confident there are ways to do better.

EDIT: no idea on PFS-legality of this... it's in the PRD so I assume it's safe. YMMV.

A tommy gun and brass knuckles would work.

I believe you can, but expect table variation. In short, I would try to get the item from the scenario in question to minimize scrutiny, and especially for social skills (bluff/intimidate/diplomacy) I'd really try to avoid using a generic 'masterwork tool'.

On the bright side, if you get a masterwork tool and the GM doesn't allow it for that particular scenario you aren't down a ton of gold.

Bandana over my nose and mouth, and it has a design of a monsters jaw/fangs I think should do the trick for the visual circumstance bonus on making a masterwork tool item.
