We are a group of 4 players, who's GM has lost the desire to continue, but we the players are really keen to continue. We have been playing at a steady pace, but not fast and would like another GM to take us through.
We are:
A Wizard, a Bard/Sorcerer, a Cleric, a Paladin
We have just been up the clock tower, which started:
You make your way through the decrepit streets of Underbridge until you reach the clock tower.
Hidden beneath the grimy, blackened goliath that is the Irespan, leans a decrepit and sagging clock tower, a dying structure of weathered stone, wood, and rusted metal supports that teeters to an unlikely height of over 180 feet. High above, near the tower's roof and barely 5 feet from the Irespan's stony belly, a tangle of scaffolding sits near a section of the structure that has fallen away. The tower's clock face is frozen in time, defiantly proclaiming it to be 3 o'clock, while above, a stone statue of an angel, her wings crumbling, leans precariously, almost as if she were preparing a final leap from her decaying perch.
and we just defeated a snake woman ....
If you would be interest in being our GM, then you would be most welcome.
Anyone who would like to join the game as a player can apply here too, but acceptance will depend upon the GM and other players.

This seems prefect for me since when I was GMing RotRL we had a tpk at Xanesha and my players chose not to continue, so this picks up right where we left off.
I have two characters I've been wanting to play: a dwarven switch-hitter ranger or a twf fighter. I think either concept would mesh well with your current party composition, so if you could suggest which you would prefer I can get to work on building it.
Character creation guidelines would be helpful, although I understand if you want to wait until the new gm can weigh in on that.

As for a DM it's to run the game and set a pace for the game, probably posting every day or every other day. Provide the battlemaps as required, much like a real game. However you can run the game as you feel best, each GM can do different thing, like some GMs roll initiative, others make the players roll.

I'm glad thus group has found a suitable gm. If it's not too much trouble Old Guy GM, could you post chargen guidelines for the new character submission? I'll start working on the basics using the original recruitment thread, but please weigh in with any specific rules or wants you have so I can craft something that will mesh well with the group as well as the campaign. Thanks!

Will do. I realize I may be getting a bit ahead of myself but knowing when the character will be introduced (Magnimar, en route to TBF, or in TBF itself) would be immensely helpful as it will alter quite a few aspects of my concept and build.
Just to reiterate I am proposing a dwarven switch hitter ranger.
Kienyach |
Oh very interested! I played the first book but my group kinda fell apart after that and I've been dying to continue ever since.
I propose to you Kienyach, half-elf brawler (playtest class, not fighter archetype). He's a mobile and versatile heavy hitting frontliner. I believe your group will benefit greatly from him as he will help solidify your front line and will be able to adapt to different kinds of fights. Right now he's built for a 1st level AP but I can change him as necessary.
He's also a character who I have put a lot of time into fluff-wise. He has alternate racial traits that makes him a half-drow and has an interesting personality and view of the world.
Kienyach |
Oh an archer paladin as well, you lot are definitely in need of Kienyach's front lining service!
I have him mostly updated to level 7. I'm not sure how we're handling wealth so I haven't done gear yet, but everything else should be caught up.
I've also read over the player's guide again and I think Kienyach would probably spend most of his time with the Shoanti. The listing under monks mentions them and it's perfect for Kienyach.
Always appreciate feedback!
Old Guy GM |
We have 4 players: archer paladin, bard/sorcerer, evokes, and cleric. We are missing a good solid melee meat shield.
And I'm fine with GM Old Guy taking over, even though he did just pass me up for his new WotR game! :P
Ouch. Didn't even see that, Praxim! I think what I will do here is let the current group pick the 5th member. While I've read through this PbP part of the AP, I think it's only right that pick to fill their need. I do agree a good solid front liner is needed though.
I haven't seem Lym post on any of this, that's why I wondered if you still had 4.
Old Guy GM |
Also interested, if you are still needing another character.
Perhaps a fighter/rogue was my initial thought.
Also assuming that OGGM is taking over the DM duities; is that the case?
It would seem that way, but as I said before, I will only "take over" if the 4 want to continue. I've heard from 2. If not, let me know and I will move on to something else.
Rhianni Verdani |
I'm real happy to have Old Guy GM, I just like the name... makes me feel its someone I can relate to ....
Thanks to Praxim and Dax for keeping an eye on this thread, I was kinda busy over Easter ... football and drinking really took it out of me...
Yes meat shield ... want meat shield ... gotta love a meat shield. sings the bard ....
Also like the idea of a rogue/fighter as Rhianni has found that traps hurt!!! So you know, Rhianni is more sorcerer than bard, she was part bard when she joined the group, as there didn't seem a great deal of healing around ...
Looking forward the GMOB getting us going again and a few new faces ...
Would want to see Sixteenbiticon's character before we decide, as he's been hanging in here a while ...

The premise of my character was he was an ex-duskwarden who had a falling out with the current leader of the group Rogar Hammerfell and was summarily banned (along with any of his present and future kin). The duskwardens provided his life the structure it so desperately needed while also providing a source of income to protect his family in the hostile bowels of the city. He was forced to make the painful decision to leave Kaer Maga to find an alternate source of income. He caught a river barge to Magnimar where he spent the next six months serving as an escort and guide throughout the magnimaran hinterlands, living frugally, sending any spare coin back home to Kaer Maga.
He is a LG ranger (guide archetype) wielding a magical falchion and mighty composite longbow. I have him done for the most part in hero lab, but understand if you go with another more meat shieldy type . I could easily switch to urban ranger to fill the rogue roll as well. Just let me know.
Attropos |
If the players decide that they want another player, I would love to join in on the fun as well. I would submit a barbarian/alchemist. The basic concept is that he is similar to Jekyll/Hyde (with Hyde taking over as the Master Chymist rules).
I looked into the thread and it looks like they are level 7. I'll make a quick character outline with background/stats in the meantime.
EDIT: I am a little bit new to the pbp scene, but if you want some examples of my pbp style, you can look at the Lords of Themselves campaign that I'm in.
Attropos |
Basic Premise: Apparent Shoanti human alchemist who operates as a doctor in Sandpoint. He is secretly a tiefling alchemist who uses magic (hat of disguise) to conceal his true identity as well as his experimentation with his own body (vestigal arms discovery x2). He became an alchemist after his Shoanti tribe discovered his scales that he grew as a youth, and was taken in by a doctor in Sandpoint. He has an alter ego named Selloc, which he believes is the monstrous part of his heritage. When he injects his mutagen (I think using syringes is a bit more colorful than just chugging a potion), his vestigal arms become streaked with black corruption that gives him incredible strength.
He was CG before he awakened Selloc, but recent actions have caused him to be a bit more cynical. Since Selloc has awakened, he has been afraid to inject his mutagen, only doing so when he is out hunting. His recent cynicism has caused him to fall into a deep depression, and he spends many of his nights out gambling, using the drug allnight to prevent himself from falling asleep and wrestling with Selloc every night.
His build will be something along the lines of 1 Barbarian/6 Vivisectionist/Beastmorph Alchemist, and will defintely fit the front liner that this party wants :)
Rough outline
Male Oni-Spawn Tiefling
15 Str +1 level +2 Racial
12 Dex
13 Con
14 Int
7 Wis+2 Racial
15 Cha -2 Racial
Feats:
Power Attack, Iron Will, Skill Focus (Survival), Eldritch Heritage (Orc)
Discoveries:
Feral Mutagen
Vestigal Arm x2

Okay, I'm here, I'm still interested in the game. ^^ I only have the teensy problem that my internet is currently out of whack, so I can't come online everyday... Please be patient with me! ^^;
As for new players -- I am firmly in favour of getting a good frontline fighter and a rogueish type. We definitely need those.
