Do skill feats add the bonus to listed skills as well?

Silver Crusade

Playing solo through the 1st adventure deck after completing the introductory scenario, using Valeros, Kyra, and Lem. Lem just was introduced to the group, but Valeros and Kyra have the skill feat from completing the intro scenario. I gave Valeros a Con boost and Kyra a Str boost. Does Kyra's Melee become +3 now with the additional +1 since it is listed under strength, or does she just get the +1 to non-melee related Str rolls? I would think it would add up, but this game doesn't seem to relate skills to stats the way the RPG does.

Another quick question, if a character dies, they can jump in at the start of an adventure deck if you are playing in succession, correct? For instance: Valeros, Kyra, and Lem are making their way through Adventure Deck 1 and Kyra doesn't make it. She is not eligible to join the party again until they begin Adventure Deck 2 (as a new character) unless she solos her way through each of the scenarios that Valeros and Lem have already completed to catch up with them, correct?

Thanks in advance!

Yes. You apply any modifiers that relate to the check when you attempt the roll. Since Kyra's Melee is related to her Strength, when she uses her Melee she adds in any Melee modifiers and any Strength modifiers. Skill feats are a type of modifier.

No. New characters can start during the next scenario you do. They don't have to wait for a new adventure.

You could argue that the replacement character shouldn't get the reward for an Adventure if they did not complete the whole Adventure, but I think I'd let that one slide. Especially later in the Adventure Path when playing catch up would be a daunting task.

The skill feat bonuses count whenever you roll that die. So if you roll your strength die for your melee checks, you add the melee bonus and the feat bonus. Short answer: yes.

A new character can jump in at any point, they just don't get rewards for scenarios and adventures they haven't completed.
