So I'm Making A Goat...

Liberty's Edge

So I'm making a goat as an animal companion, because after playing some Goat Simulator, I have to try it. I can't decide between Druid or Cavalier, so I decided to focus on the goat. Then I ran into a little problem. There's only one kind of goat in the game, this guy.

Small, and only a tiny little gore attack with 12 strength.

I'm determined though to make this the most badass Goat Animal Companion I can, and I need help. I don't make companions often, so I often feel I'm always missing a few things when I make them.

So let me give you the guidelines
Level 4 character
That's about it.

Is there any other goat in Pathfinder that I'm missing?

Grand Lodge

There is the Goat Familiar.

Beast-bonded Witch may be the way to go.

You will have a smarter Goat.

Liberty's Edge

I didn't even think of using a Witch. I'll look into that option to.

Grand Lodge

Yeah I was going to Suggest a Familiar as well. You can take Profession: Cheese Maker. You can age your cheese Via magic and sell it for ridiculous profit.

Your Goat will be smart as well as being able to be transmuted into Bigger nastier things for fighting. Form of the Dragon and Familiar spell comes to mind. =) Psudo-dragon that is a Goat a majority of the time.

Grand Lodge

Find the Beast-Bonded Witch here.

Human with Eye for Talent alternate racial trait will give a +2 bonus to one ability score of the Goat.

Liberty's Edge

Blackblood, I think you just saved my Goat.

Grand Lodge

Consider the Animals Patron, for Animal Growth.

There are other good options as well.

He should lick stuff, sacrifice to the blood goat, and and be The Lord of the goats, capable of raising down peasant-goats around him. And jetpack.
GOATS for the GOAT!
(Warning. Following this advice may result in, but is not limited too, aggravated dm, destruction of mankind, destruction of goatkind, destruction of womankind, destruction of bobkind, getting stuck in the ground, goat heads flailing in the ground, demonic powers standing in front of a bus to fly, and worst of all, destruction of grass.)

Burning Gaze, so your goat can fly around and laser beam people

I would suggest mad dog barbarian. That way after level 5 your goat can rage when you do (there is a rage power for that). Add in some teamwork feats and even a goat can become scary.

Edit: I didn't notice that the goat is not on the list of animal companions. But unless it is for PFS I could see either the Antelope or the Ram animal companions refluffed as goat.

Goats are awesome, I asked for advice recently as well, so read this:

Now I can't get the concept of an orc Mad Dog Barbarian with a tiger animal companion and a goat familiar via Eldritch Heritage with the goat patiently explaining again to the 5 int orc and the 3 int tiger how to do simple things out of my head. Thanks internet.

Sovereign Court

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Step 1: the Treesinger Druid archetype from ARG. Take the Plant Companion (something that looks like a cabbage).

Step 2: Eldritch Heritage (Arcane) to get a Goat familiar.

Step 3: Leadership to get a Worg cohort.

Step 4: You arrive at a river...

Assuming you are allowed to refluff animals...

Could a small cleric with the animal or fur domain, the chivalry inquisition and eldritch heritage (arcane) run around with three goats? One as animal companion, one as a mount and one as familiar. Or would he need to have a special ability to have several? Like one druid archetype.

Sovereign Court

Don't forget using Leadership to take Awakened animals as cohorts.

Aren't there companion stats for antelopes and other moderate - low size horned mammals? Most GM's will allow you to re skin it, I also support lazer goats.

Also, see if your GM will allow you to sacrifice five peasants in order to add the fiendish template to your goat. Blood for the Blood Goat!

I also support Glutton's suggestion of lazer goat.

In my experience, goats tied to a fence on the side of a country road really love Cheetos and blue raspberry juice. Hope that helps, even if it turns their tongues blue (which it will).
