1. does Society have any restrictions on mounts say for a halfling (other than wolf or pony and the later bear dog.)if so where can I find out the eligable contenders

2. I read somewhere about being able to draw your sword as an attack and it gets some benefit is this a feat or something else

Off the top of my head I am not sure on where any additional mounts for a halfling would be listed. You might want to check in both Ultimate Combat for the Samurai and Advanced Players Guide (Samurai is an alternate class of the Cavalier). On the drawing your sword as an attack for a Samurai, I believe you are thinking of the Iajitsu Strike ability granted to the Sword Saint archetype. You lose the mount and banner class abilities. The archetype is in the Dragon Empires Primer. Hope this helps.

Since this is a "Samurai Question," I imagine you're referring to the Sword Saint Archetype.

Tragically, it's terrible. There should be a Samurai Archetype with a viable alternative to a Mount, and a fearsome, elegant iaijutsu master should be one of the options, but this needs to be rewritten, pure and simple.

There may be some specialized "you must take these specific feats/traits/racial abilities/items/levels in another class"-type solutions that make the Archetype conceivably functional, but such things, of course, shouldn't be necessary to play it.

There's also a feat called "Wave Strike" which appears in Ultimate Combat. This is essentially a Iaijutsu move.

You present a serene facade until you unsheathe your weapon and strike in one fluid motion.

Prerequisites: Weapon expertise class feature or Quick Draw, Bluff 1 rank.

Benefit: If on your first turn of combat you draw a melee weapon to attack an opponent within your reach, you can spend a swift action to make a Bluff check to feint against that opponent.
