Running Stones over Sandpoint. Advice?

Rise of the Runelords

All right, after making all of those nifty maps, next Saturday I am sending my crew into the (potential) meat grinder. I have read a half dozen threads which contained a lot of conflicting info. The one thing I heard over and over was make a timeline document. Well... check. I have that. What other advice do you guys have? Anything is appreciated!

I too am running this in a couple days, and I just wanted to know how the encounter went for you?

The first session of my groups defence of Sandpoint was summed up in THIS thread.

The second session had them slaughtering a mess of giants then chasing down Big T, who almost wrecked them with his massive number of attacks. Finally the Wizard was able to entangle him by using fabricate to craft a set of huge rock boots around his feet out of the cobblestones he was standing on. This lowered his AC just enough for the group to land some lucky blows on him and finish him off.

Overall experience, the dragon was way less trouble than I thought, and Big T was way more. However I think my situation was a particularly special one.

I also ended up building some fun roleplay out of the aftermath. I had one group of giants grab the dragons body and make off to the north (presumably for some undead dragon creation ritual), while another group kidnapped the Scarnettis and made off to the south. The group had to decide which one to follow. They picked the Scarnetti's. There was plenty of elite rudeness from Mrs. Scarnetti (ordering the players to go after her husband and their fortune), meetings with the townsfolk who were of two minds on the whole deal, and the Mayor who explained some of the back story about how the Scarnettis were blocking her from building a municipal lumber mill, and thus had a lot of pull. The group ended up finding the hidden evidence after saving T and used it to discredit the Scarnettis entirely. Then they agreed to pay for the building of the new lumber-mill, which was pretty much the final nail in the Scarnetti influence in Sandpoint. Oh and there was an assault on a Scarzini hidout, an ambush by giants, and the purchase of a pack of hunting dogs by the groups rogue. I pretty much made an entire session just out of the Scarnetti side thing, and it was one of our better nights of play I think.
