Free Hand Fighter Archetype ?

Advice

Dark Archive

I was wondering the consensus and/or ruling on this archetype in regards to a specific build I had in mind.

I wanted to make a "free hand" fighter. My question is whether I can use buckler strapped to the forearm of my off-hand, since I am technically not using it or wielding it in my off-hand.

Thank you for any help and clarification :)

Any link to FAQ or definite ruling would also be helpful in case I overlooked something :)

I believe there is no definite ruling on it for PFS, so I would expect a lot of table GM variance.

If you were at my table I would let you wear it, but you wouldn't get the shield bonus, unless you were willing to give up all of your archetype benefits.

For these kind of odd cornercase rule questions, you're generally going to have much better luck getting results by asking them in the Rules section of the Pathfinder forums.

I've flagged this post to be moved. Good luck!

I suppose that if you do not benefit from the buckler in any way then your hand could be considered free.

Thank you for moving it and thank you for the reply Alex :)

I made a thread to try and resolve this issue.
