Closest pathfinder class to the old 3.5 Hexblade class?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

I'm working with my current d&d group to slowly try out pathfinder with a module we want to do, and I'd like to keep it purely pathfinder.

I have a player who was very interested in the hexblade. Do you know any class that best represents this?

4 level arcane caster is as of yet unknown in pathfinder. I would like to see the hex blade done with an improved mechanic for putting bad luck on enemies. Perhaps through a point pool like ki or magus arcana.

I don't know all the details but from the name I would assume a hexcrafter magus from ultimate magic.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

You might look at the hexcrafter archetype for the magus. It's a magus archetype that has some witch hexes instead of magus abilities.

I'm not familiar with the 3.5 hexblade class, so I may be off in left field, but you can take a look. I'm guessing the hexblade class was full BAB (since it was mentioned it has 4 spell levels), while magus is only 3/4 BAB and has 6 spell levels.

Hexcrafter magus archetype is on this page: http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/ultimateMagic/spellcastingClassOptions/m agus.html

Both the class and the archetype originally appear in Ultimate Magic.

I believe the hexcrafter is the spiritual sequel to the hexblade. Forgot about that. It's different, but could do the trick.

If you are looking for a arcane beat stick with 4 levels of spell casting you can look at the Bloodrager from the Advanced Class Guide playtest. The class is effectively a full BAB, raging martial with paladin progression in spells and they have bloodline abilities like a sorcerer.

Well, in Path of War, the new class Harbringer can spread curse condition with maneuvers and stances. He fits the Hexblade class closely.

Do third party classes count? If so there are a number I picked up that I liked.

A Hexcrafter Magus is close in flavor and most functions.

Hexcrafter Magus is the closest you'll probably get with Piazo material.

Hexblade isn't open content, so Paizo can't make an official one that duplicates the class from D&D 3.5. However, there are a number of homebrew conversions of the Hexblade for Pathfinder on these boards, including my own: the Witchblade. You may well find what you are looking for by doing a search for Hexblade; some are quite interesting.

Here. I got bored and made you this. Kind of rushed it. Sorry.

Hexblade
