Inquisitor vs Warpriest

Advice

Which is the stronger class (warpriest as we currently have it)?
Comparable in the damage department?
I think the Warpriest has the edge when it comes to spells but the inquisitor has more OOC utility.

thoughts?

And do either of them outperform the Paladin?

What does "stronger" mean? They fill different roles.

Warpriest is a better combatant, and spells are about equal, depending on if you prefer the cleric or inquisitor list. Inquisitor is much better at skills and out-of-combat utility.

Damage is about the same, but Warpriest is more accurate.

And it really depends on what you mean by 'out perform'. In raw damage? And do you mean in general, or against specifically evil targets.

Against evil targets.....I'd say no. Paladins are just built for that. Do I even have to begin on smite?

Against nonevil targets, they do better as far as damage since paladins really have little to nothing other than full BAB and maybe a weapon bond. But paladins are more tanky than both in general, since they have better saves and they can heal themselves as a swift action for a fair amount.

Having better spells evens that out somewhat, but still..... it all depends on what you want to do, and what kind of campaign you are playing. If this is a campaign where you are hunting down a demonic lich dragon who wishes to make more of his kind to take over the world.... paladin is what you go for. But in general, you will get more use out of the other two, since they are more flexible in roles and the kinds of moral codes you can adopt.

Inquisitors are just plain fun with their judgements, spells, good combat capability, and RP skills. And bane. I cant wait to use the tiefling inquisitor ive created.

Right now, Inquisitors are much more fleshed out. Now, if Warpriests get spells associated with their respective blessings, and an updated spell list, then they will certainly kick ass. Inquisitors are more versatile, but Warpriests have the capability to hit harder and more often. How? Channel Smite is one way. Warpriests also have much greater staying power than Inquisitors, and while the Inquisitor can only ever be moderately useful as a healer at best, the Warpriest can definitely devote some healing power to himself and his allies.

Warpriest has more AC over the Inquisitor, as well as better BAB when using chosen weapon and better action economy with self-buffing. They also have a semi-flexible ability to apply certain properties to their sacred weapon as opposed to the 1 that Inquisitors get.

Inquisitor, on the other hand, gets 4 more skill ranks/level, pseudo-smite judgements that can net them a full-BAB equivalent, other than extra attacks, can do range better IMO with the ability to bane all arrows on a Rapid Manyshot, and has better Wisdom synergy in general. Its also less MAD and even slightly SAD, since they can ignore penalties to dumping Charisma if they take an archetype/inquisition.

I personally prefer Inquisitor, as it is pretty much as good in combat, and is much better out-of-combat, but I still like Warpriest getting to use suboptimal weapons better, such as the Battle Ladder or the Club.
