Little Red Goblin Games |
Hey guys, so it’s been a while since Little Red has done an update and we’ve got some fantastic stuff about to roll out so I wanted to give you all a little insight into what’s coming down the pipe.
Necropunk Advanced Players Guide
This is our next “big” product coming out. It’s got it’s own mass combat system (two actually), an adapted version of Pathfinder’s vehicle rules (made simpler), two new base classes (pilot and partisan), a whole slew of prestige classes, new feats, languages, weird equipment (of course), ship stats, and even how to do dungeons (“grave robberies”) in Necropunk. I am hesitant to give a release date on it. We are working on it until it’s done but it’s more done than not (final design tweeks, finishing ship stats, editing started but still underway).

Dragon Tiger Ox & Heroes of the East
(Revisions)
So we still owe backers NPCs. This is because we are doing an overhaul on our Heroes of the East line before we update Dragon Tiger Ox. This update will have backer NPCs and give the HoE content promised to upper level backers. That is sitting behind the Necropunk APG but we have resources dedicated to it that are working in parallel.

Detective Base Class
So I have a confession, I have been a Doyle fanboy since I was old enough to read. I don’t want to give TOO much away (wouldn’t want to spoil the mystery right?) but we have produced and playtested a mundane detective base class that doesn’t play like any other class produced on a similar topic (Including sleepless detective, the bard archetype, Rogue Genius’s Investigator, and TPK’s deductionist). It really carves it’s own niche and plays unlike any other class we’ve written. That’s probably the next thing in the chamber and we are looking at launching it around the 5th (just waiting on some art). We really felt like there was room for a legitimate mundane (Ex rather than Su/Sp) detective class. The thing about Holmes is that it’s never supernatural. In fact, a common theme of Doyle’s (and other writers of the time) work is science and intellect dispelling the supernatural.

April Fool’s Release
So we have always done an April 1st release. We’ve done the Man class, the Battle Chef, and this year we are doing something too. All I can say is that “It’s quite elusive”.

Courtier Base Class
We also have a courtier class. It’s a class that works as a companion to another character (or potentially NPC) and grants them a bonus. It’s very much rooted in the “retainer” tradition. However, you are not a side character- more a behind the scenes mover and shaker or power behind the throne. Several different paths to it as well. I noticed a trend in my work recently- I don’t like high magic so I tend to write a lot more “low magic” classes. This class, along with our detective, plays more to a political/intrigue game.

The Hero
When we say “hero” we mean that it is a character who fills the format laid out by Joseph Campbell's “The Hero with a Thousand Faces”. I’m not sure if it’s more commentary on Campbell or base class. Interesting read either way. One fear I’m concerned people will have is that they will assume that it is a “hero” in regards to the role the character will play in the story. It’s actually a reference to the tropes it represents, the archetype (in a literary sense) a character who takes this class would fit into, and the aesthetic creatures. It’s like playing Luke Skywalker, Odysseus, or even Simba where their role in the universe is more important than their strict adherence to a given class. Like Luke isn’t the best Jedi ever (at least in the movies, we can talk expanded universe later) but there is no way to deny that he is one of the most important ones. I liken it to the mechanics behind the destined bloodline sorcerer or even an oracle. It’s really close to being done- just waiting on a slot to open up and some art to get finished (It’s Migues, the guy who did Racial Guide 2 so you know it’ll be good!).

Matador
(Fencer Archetype)
This is a quick little archetype for the fencer class in “En Garde!” book.

Oh we forgot to mention one.
We have the “Buck” base class scheduled to be released as well. It is more “napoleonic” and represents a formally trained soldier who has noble blood.
They combine the conduct of a gentleman with a ferocity of a grenadier. Our reviewers have described it as a “fighter with personality”.
I have some dates actually. It looks like the release order is going to be:
These dates will probably fluctuate a little bit and the release of Necropunk APG will likely take the slot of one of the may dates (and that could push us back).
Everything on that list is literally done and/or being formatted as of the time of writing this message.

What happened? All of the Pathfinder compatible products from Little Red Goblin Games have disappeared from the Paizo store. Is anyone at liberty to explain what happened?
