Dragon Descendant Homebrew Race (Under 20 rp)

Homebrew and House Rules

Good Evening Everyone,
Thought I'd give the Race Builder a go and see what I could come up with.

Considering how overpowering the half-dragon template is, I decided to go about making a quasi-dragon race, or dragon descendant. Please let me know what you think, what I should add, or take away. I'm sure this has been done before, as half-dragons are quite popular, but this is my variant idea. This is the human variant of the Dragon Descendant. I hope you like it!

Dragon Descendants

Quote:
Dragons are known to mingle in the every day lives of what they deem as lesser inhabitants. Their curiosity and fascination sometimes lead to the rare off-springs known as half-dragons. These powerful hybrids are few and far between, and quite unsettling to lay eyes on. On rare occasions, they, too, have children of their own. Half-dragons who couple with a non-dragon species still pass their bloodline on, and thus the Dragon Descendants come to existence. While their heritage grows more distant, Dragon Descendants still possess prominent traits that distinguish them as rare and extraordinary beings.

Human Dragon Descendant Racial Traits:

Quote:

+2 Strength, +2 Constitution: Human Dragon Descendants possess the strength and toughness of their draconic heritage.

+2 to One Ability Score: Human Dragon Descendants also get a +2 bonus to one ability score of their choice at creation to represent the varied nature of their human counterpart.

Normal Speed: Human Dragon Descendants have a base speed of 30 feet.

Bonus Feat: Human Dragon Descendants select one extra feat at 1st level.

Alternate Racial Traits:

The following racial traits may be selected instead of the standard Human Dragon Descendant racial traits. Consult your GM before selecting any of these new options.
Quote:

Claws: Some Human Dragon Descendants are born with claws and gain two attacks. These are primary natural attacks that deal 1d4 points of damage.

Bite: Some Human Dragon Descendants possess sharp teeth capable of rending flesh, granting a natural attack that deals 1d6 points of damage.

Wings: Some Human Dragon Descendants heritage are much younger than others. Their potent bloodlines can sometimes lead to the growth of wings. While not full-sized for agile flight, these wings are powerful enough to provide a flight speed of 30 feet with clumsy maneuverability.

Breath Weapon: Some Human Dragon Descendants inherit the dragon breath similar to the one of their dragon variety. Once per day, as a standard action, the Human dragon Descendant can make a supernatural breath weapon attack that deals 2d6 points of the damage type and shape relevant to their dragon variety (see below). All creatures within the affected area must make a Reflex saving throw to avoid taking damage. The save DC against this breath weapon is 10 + 1/2 the character level + their Constitution modifier. Those who succeed at the save take no damage from the attack.

Dragon Variety, Element Shape

  • Black, acid, 50-foot line
  • Blue, electricity, 50-foot line
  • Green, acid, 50-foot line
  • Red, fire, 30-foot cone
  • White, cold, 30-foot cone
  • Brass, fire, 30-foot cone
  • Bronze, electricity, 50-foot line
  • Copper, acid, 50-foot line
  • Gold, fire, 30-foot cone
  • Silver, cold, 30-foot cone

So human but even better? What is the level adjustment?

Whats the downside? There isn't even a negative ability modifier (which should definitely be a dex penalty.) Why do they get a second bonus after the +2 str/con? Couldn't it just be placed in the same attribute for a +4 to con or str right off the bat? That kind of entirely negates one of the biggest draws of playing an Orc. Why also a free bonus feat and darkvision? Do they get the sorcerer and barbarian favored class bonuses too?

IMO, waaayyy, too much.
