inquisitor proficiencies

Rules Questions

Do inquisitors get proficiency with racial weapons from weapon familiarity?

Grand Lodge

If their racial trait provides proficiency, then yes.

If their racial trait simply allows them to treat certain weapons as martial weapons, then no.

Inquisitors are not proficient with all martial weapons.

Sczarni

BBT has it.

My Half-orc Inquisitor uses a Greataxe.

But he wouldn't be proficient with an Orcish Double Axe.

You are also proficient with the favored weapon of your Deity.

If your Deity's favored weapon is the unarmed strike, then you are treated as if you had the Improved Unarmed Strike feat.

Hmmm So a dwarven inquisitorwith blade of mercy could make good use of enforcer + a battle axe... Is it worth the loss to dip unbreakable fighter 1 to get access to longaxe & waraxe along with the feats and heavy armor?

Depends on how high you plan on going with your campaign. You gotta remember, that if you go all the way, I'd say not, but that's just me. Not many classes I multiclass with unless I'm doing some sort of prestige class.

It's really painful to multiclass an Inquisitor since you get really good stuff almost every level. Even taking one level of fighter puts off Bane for a level, slows down your spell advancement, slows down your Judgment advancement, puts off Solo Tactics feats, etc.

Heavy armor probably isn't worth it if you're playing beyond 10th level because you lose Stalwart that way.

The War Axe is good and flavorful, but not enough better than the other options to warrant the interruption in Inq levels. I'd only consider dipping for the Long Axe since the Long Spear really is mediocre, but that depends on your deity's favored weapon and it would have to be in a dedicated reach build. My Inquisitor of Shelyn loves him his glaive, but there's no way it would have been worth losing an Inquisitor level just to get it.

Martial Weapon proficiency feat nabs you the Longaxe, or Waraxe, if a must.
