I've always liked reading Aubrey's Eberron Campaign. It's been going for seven years and remains quite active.
There's a lot to read, though. You don't make it seven years by posting slow.

Of course, I can't help but recommend my own; Follow the Flood Road.. It's been running for a year now, it's getting close to hitting to 2000 posts, but all of those posts are pretty meaty.
If you like original story-telling in Golarion, with great RP from the PCs, it might be your thing.

I've been having a blast in Mike Kimmel's Thralls of Thrune campaign. We're playing a version of the classic D&D 3.0 module The Sunless Citadel.
We just became kingmakers and named Meepo King of the Kobolds.

My favourite pbp (non-participating) on the boards is JSL's Rise of the Runelords. It doesn't complete, but the participants are amazing and make everything come alive. So for a 'shorter 2,500' well structured game, I'd recommend it. (It got me to the site)

Personally, I always found that staying in-touch over chat led to a greater sense of camaraderie than posting in the discussion thread. In fact, it was those games where we chatted the most that seemed to carry on the longest and lead to the best party cohesion. Back when I still had a 10K+ post game going, my players and I stayed in touch using Google Chat.
Since then, that app has been replaced Google Hangouts which allows you to set up persistent chat groups quickly and easily from either an Android phone or a Chrome plugin on your PC. Even though it's been almost a year since I had to put ye olde PbP on hiatus, we still chat and converse about board topics, politics, etc. Also, chat can be far faster than email or board posts when it comes to asking a rules question without having it immortalized on the boards.
