So a couple of my players defeated some tiny fey which are roughly the size of pixies, (they're sprites) and apparently they decided to be macabre and collect the bodies to harvest them for either their wings or grind them into faerie dust.
Now, I'm not even sure the second bit is possible which brings the question of ... where does faerie dust come from? Secondary being is it even worth it for them to collect bodies like this, if any of it is even up for appraisal.

A) It's magic, the pixie does some magic stuff and the magic dust does magic.
B) Well they're gonna get sprite dust instead of pixie dust, now aren't they? If they make their Knowledge (Nature) checks they should realize that Sprite dust is about as useful for flight (or whatever they want to use it/sell it for) as iguana skin is for protecting against fire damage (like red dragonhide would).
Anyone who could identify the stuff as sprite dust would instantly know that the party killed CN, probably innocent, fey and probably would either refuse to do business or at worst report them to some agency.

Are they of evil alignment? Grinding up the bodies of dead sentient foes to use for spell components or magical items strikes me as something of which most gods would likely not approve, assuming they're not worshiping that obscure deity Soylent the Green.
You're the DM. Decide what it means, and what it does.

In d20pfsrd only the tooth fairy and the pixie come up on a search for fairy dust. And I doubt that pixie dust is ground-up wings...
