Hi guys!
In the spirit of the "List of 3rd Party Campaign Settings" thread, I'd like to do a list of base classes from publishers. The guidelines would be:

  • Must currently be published and available for sale.
  • Not a prestige, archetype, etc (alternate classes are ok)
  • Be Pathfinder compatible.

    Link

I know some folks have a lot of classes. If you're a publisher, or wanna help out, just request access to the document and I'll give it.

I am going to start by pulling the classes from the d20PFSRD site.

  • Shadow Lodge

Funny, I was just thinking of starting this exact thread. Here goes!

    The Malefactor (5 stars avg.)
A curse wielding class that rewards players for rolling 1s. Throws curses around as liberally as a witch, but also projects auras of bad luck. Very entertaining class to play, and great for roleplaying.

    The Deductionist (4.5 stars avg.)
Ever wanted to play a character based on the new Sherlock Holmes movies? You can. Use your keen intellect to overcome your adversaries. With the Shadowed Avenger archetype, you can even play Batman (of sorts).

    Ultimate Gladiator (5.0 stars avg.)
This alternate fighter class greatly expands on the gladiator archetype, building a talent based class that will let you be the @$$-kicking machine in the arena you were always meant to be. Better yet, you can use your Charisma outside of the ring too and inspire your allies. Great for Dark Sun, pure gladiator campaigns or just as a flavorful fighter in your regular campaign.

Great minds think alike? (Let's go with that)

And I added those three (now we have THREE gladiators on the list).

Also, sorry to those who could not view the document when the thread was first up. Didn't make it able to be viewed. Works now.

Rite Publishing has Demon Hunter and Taskshaper
    Lost Spheres has the Echo
Beyond the Stars by Zombie Sky Press has: Untouchable, Moon Child, and Starseed.
Super Genius Games has Time Warden, Time Thief, Riven Mage, Armiger, Hellion, Mosaic Mage and the Godlings.
Rossi Publishing Games has the Charlatan and the Spark

    Scott,
    I'm in to help.

    Commander - amora game
    Swashbuckler - amora game
    Tinker - Amora Game

Talented line by Rogue Genius Games (do these qualify?)

Two are getting sent to the guys upstairs for layout today. Dotting this thread until the...

Underterror - AdventureAWeek.com - A horrifying class that mutates their bodies with Infernal power.

Stonespeaker - AdventureAWeek.com - True shamans of the earth that use geomancy to disastrous effect.

...are ready to roll out. :)

Aetheric Dreams (From nights of the Crusades) has:
    Caravan Merchant
    Orator
    Scholar

Thief Acrobat - Louis Porter Jr. Designs

Enlightened Scholar, Kusa - Rite Publishing (HotJO)

    Thanks guys.
I had the Super Genius stuff. Added the Amora, Lost Spheres, Zobmie Sky, and Rossi stuff.

I would say no for the talented stuff.

And Mike, are those out yet? I couldn't find them online. If not, we can add them once they are out.

I am actually avoiding rebuilds (which reminds me to remove the strider) or alternate presentations. Just looking for base classes.

I wasn't sure. I see you've already covered A Fistful of Denarii. Thanks!

No problem. Actually we gave it a shout out in Dragon Tiger Ox as well as suggested classes to play (and cited it in the our section 15).

    Medium - Purple Duck Games
The Clockworker - Headless Hydra Games - Mor Aldenn
Gearhead - ICOSA Entertainment - Pure Steam
    The Thane - Ordo Draconis
    Spellweaver - Misfit Studios

    - Still running threw my files

Is the thane a new class? It looks like just lore? I saw someone saying it had not Pathfinder stats.

    Added the others.

I will have to double check. It's in my class folder on the drive.

    Dreadfox Games has:
    Gypsy
    Puppetmaster
    Ritualist
    Swordmaster

    Awesome, added.

    Glen Taylor Games:
    The Primalist
    the Priest
    The Mage

~I own way too many 3PP products. Give me an hour for a full list

    (Added)
Well I'm sure our revenue streams thank you.

So, at the moment, the class names with the most overlap are:

  • Three Instances: Gladiator, Shaman
  • Two Instances: Knight, Priest, Scholar, Stalker, Swashbuckler, Tinker, Yamabushi

Regarding the Talented classes, how would you categorize them, if not calling them full classes? I agree that they are a redo of the core classes, but they are at least at the level of an alternate class. Note that a bunch of Super Genius Games credited classes are now Rogue Genius Games classes.

Also, here are a few more:

    Aquanaut - Alluria Publishing
    Greater Familiar - Skirmisher Publishing
    Angler - Alluria Publishing
    Kahuna - Alluria Publishing
    Mariner - Alluria Publishing
    Siren - Alluria Publishing
    Angakkuq - Alluria Publishing
Front Grounder - Dias Ex Machnia
Heavy Grounder - Dias Ex Machina
    Marshal - Dias Ex Machina
    Mechanic - Dias Ex Machina
    Operator - Dias Ex Machina
    Medic - Dias Ex Machina
    Stalker - Dias Ex Machina
    Gunslinger - Dias Ex Machina
    Sniper - Dias Ex Machina
    Vanguard - Dias Ex Machina
    Gunslinger - Alvena Publishing
Death Knight - Rogue Genius Games
    Luckbringer - Rite Publishing
    Mushakemono - Rite Publishing
    Bone-Breaker - Rite Publishing
    Hishoken - Rite Publishing

I dunno what to call them. I think we are really just looking for straight base classes. If we added them there would just be this big blurb of "talented CLASS" name.

    Also:

  • Isn't Death Knight an archetype?
  • Heavy/Front grounder are subclasses correct? Should we list them together or separate?
  • Are all of those Dias Ex Machina classes NeuroSpasta?
  • Are all of those Alluria Cerulean Seas?

  • Death Knight is an alternate class (which I think you said you were including)
Heavy Grounder and Front Grounder appear to be separate classes in how they are presented.
Dias Ex Machina classes are from Amethyst: Renaissance. They appear to be closed content.
All Alluria Publishing listed classes are Cerulean Seas.

The Mushakemono, Bone-Breaker and Hishoken are all 20-level racial paragon classes.

If you are excluding core class rebuilds, you might want to not include the Alvena Publishing Gunslinger, the Schooled Bard from 4 Winds Fantasy Gaming and probably a bunch more that are already on the list. You are also going to run into issues of when Paizo and a third party publisher both go to the same design space (see Advanced Class Guide and how it treads on the toes of a bunch of existing 3rd Party Classes).

As Caedwyr mentions: Bone-Breaker (kappa), Mushademono and Hishoken are 20 level racial paragon classes by Rite Publishing, as part of the Kaidan setting of Japanese horror, each from the appropriate In the Company of - series.

Of course Rite Publishing includes racial paragon classes for: giants, gargoyles, ironborn (constructs), minotaur, medusa, fey, and coming soon: dragons.

Kaidan also includes the necrotic warrior (or danmatsumabatsu) classes, a brand of specialized assassins, with four specific necrologies: strength based, poison based, bone spur based and shadow based. This class will be included in the Kaidan GM's guide, but currently are only published as a unique class of NPCs included in the third module of the Curse of the Golden Spear trilogy, Dark Path.

Although stated to be an archetype, almost being an alternate class is the Yojimbo (ranger archetype) from Way of the Samurai (PFRPG). The yojimbo includes as many class feature changes as the antipaladin has to the paladin (perhaps more).

Path of War has the stalker, Warder, and warden.

    Do Racial Paragon Classes count?

Rite Publishing dose a bunch of 1-20 Racial base classes in their Company of Monsters line of products

Lrgg's Invoker should be on the list.

I don't see shadowsworn from Player's Guide To the Crossroads (Midgard Campaign Setting by Kobold Press) on the list.

No love for the 4 Winds Fantasy Gaming classes...

Paths of Power from 2009 has our versions of the Gladiator, Samurai, Hedge Witch, Voyageur, and Anti-Paladin. The Elemental Wizard was more of an archetype (before Archetypes were introduced).

Paths of Power II currently has the Corsair, Timebender, Shinobi, and Sheriff; the Ayutthayan Monk is an alternative class.

For those who don’t mind a little ‘mature’ material in their gaming, there’s also the Sister of Rapture, by Fantastic Gallery. A divine/spellcasting class with d8 HD, 2+Int skill points, proficiency with light armour, shields, simple and martial weapons, 3/4 BAB progression, sorcerer-style spontaneous casting of all nine levels of divine spells, and some other class-features rich in RP potential. ;)

    From the
New Paths Compendium from Kobold Press:

    • The spell-less ranger, a skilled warrior of the wilderness
    • The shaman, with otherworldly new abilities and an animal spirit guide
    • The battle scion, a master of sword and spell
    • The white necromancer, wielding death magic for the side of Good
    • The elven archer, deadly ranged fighter capable of astonishing feats of marksmanship
    • The savant, master of all trades (if only for an instant)
    • The all-new theurge class, combining arcane and divine power!

It appears most of the previous two messages were already on the list linked in the OP. Thanks for the additions.

Also, it looks like no one has mentioned the Divine Channeler.

You can find a bunch of base classes appearing on the website for the Thunderscape Campaign Setting, specifically the:

    • Arbiter
    • Entomancer
    • Fallen
    • Golemoid
    • Mechamage
    • Seer
    • Steamwright
    • Thaumaturge
    • Thunderscout

Not sure who the publisher is, the Campaign Setting is for sale here at Paizo [runs off to check]

[EDIT - Kyoudai Games publishes Thunderscape]

Pretty sure there was a new base class in the most recent issue of Wayfinder too... I'll look in a minute...

You should probably add a note that the Occultist is a Pact Magic class in the same manner that you noted that the Psion is a psionics class. ;-)

If danmatsumabatsu is not released yet, I will hold off on it.

If yojimbo is listed as an archetype I will list it as such unless someone thinks it shouldn't be on there. The difference between an archetype and a alternate is finite but does exist.

I think the classes that step on Paizo's toes are fine (4 Winds anti-paladin for example). But classes that are specifically mentioned to be a rebuild don't fit the bill. So I made a 2nd sheet called "class rebuilds" and just moved them over there. Does that work?

Racial paragons totally count. Does anyone have a complete list of the racial paragons in the Company of Monsters? I added: giants, gargoyles, ironborn (constructs), minotaur, medusa, and fey? Do they have specific names for the class or are they just named after the race?

I feel ashamed for not adding our invoker to the list.

We had some of the 4 Winds Fantasy Gaming classes on there (Gladiator, Hedge Witch, Voyageur). Added the others.

So question on the Sisters of Rapture. I know the Compatibility License has the "book of erotic fantasy" clause in it. How did you get it approved to hold the Compatibility License?

Spell-less ranger was added to the class rebuild chart.

    Added:

  • Death Knight
  • Warder
  • Warlord
  • Giant
  • Gargoyle
  • Ironborn (constructs)
  • Minotaur
  • Medusa
  • Fey
  • Invoker
  • Shadowsworn
  • Anti-Paladin
  • Samurai
  • Yojimbo
  • Corsair
  • Ayutthayan Monk
  • Sisters of Rapture
  • Savant
  • Theurge
  • Divine Channeler
  • Arbiter
  • Entomancer
  • Fallen
  • Golemoid
  • Mechamage
  • Seer
  • Steamwright
  • Thaumaturge
  • Thunderscout

  • The Danmatsumabatsu has been included in Dark Path, the third module of the Curse of the Golden Spear trilogy for Kaidan, but are NPC builds and not the full class description - so wait for the GM's Guide to Kaidan release for the full builds.

I'm pretty sure every racial paragon class has a specific name that isn't the name of the race. For example the tengu racial paragon class is called Hishoken. Some like medusa is the medusa paragon, so some have the same name, most do not, however.

    Fey = First Folk Paragon
    Gargoyle = Stonewarden Paragon
    Giant = Jotun Paragon
Minotaur = Rog-Kalem (Scion of the Horn)
Wyrd = Wyrd Paragon but it's only a 7 level class

While I'm thinking about it Wicked Fantasy has a few classes as well. They are very setting specific and race restricted but they are base classes

    Halfling = Butler
    Goblin = Buk (Merchant)
Kuba-Chisari (Kobold) = Mahsh-ahtahd (Master of the City)

The Butler is kind of a neat one because the Butler's job isn't simply to help his household but also to make problems....disappear, making them highly skilled assassins.

@Scott - add a Note for the Shadowsworn: Players Guide to the Crossroads. The class is not available on its own.

    Great point!

That reminds me that the New Paths Compendium also has a variant of the spell-less ranger class called the skin-changer. Can't believe I forgot that - it's one of my favorite of the new classes in the book! :)

Looks like you missed Edgewalker by Interjection Games.

    Howdy, Scott!

I consider the ethermancer a rebuild of the 3.5 warlock and the truenamer a rebuild of the truenamer.

That being said, the ethermancer is sufficiently different from the warlock that YMMV on that one.

Thanks for all the submissions guys. If I can ask, please check the document before reporting one. I think we’ve had the 4 Winds classes reported a few times at this point :-)

I assume “Runespeaker” is “Runecaster” as described in the product description of that book?

Holding off on Illuminatus until it is published.

Are Halfling Sling Master, Drwarven Crossbowyer, and Mystic Archer archetypes?

Ok then. I think we hold off on Shadowsworn then. Please let me know when it is released as a class that players can use :-)

Skin-walker is now listed on class rebuilds. Is this correct?

Ethermancer & Truenamer are on the list. The “rebuild” section is for classes that are literally mechanic rebuilds of Paizo’s classes.

    Added:

  • Butler
  • Buk (Merchant)
  • Mahsh-ahtahd
  • Rook
  • Medium
  • Runecaster
  • Runereaper
  • Cultkiller
  • Ghostblade
  • Guttermage
  • Neopagan
  • Urbanist
  • Assassin
  • Corsair
  • Monster Hunter
  • Noble
  • Survivor
  • Saffir
  • Edgewalker

Halfling Sling Master, Drwarven Crossbowyer, and Mystic Archer are actually full class variants (as opposed to archetypes) of the Elven Archer class from the New Paths Compendium

The Skin-walker is a full class variant of the Spell-less Ranger, also from the New Paths Compendium. If you are considering the Spell-less Ranger a class rebuild, then I suppose the Skin-walker alternate class should also be considered as such. I would counter, however, that the Spell-less Ranger is different enough from the standard Ranger class that it could very easily be considered a new class, as opposed to a class rebuild. That's you call of course! :)
