OK, I have some questions on darts. Can they be recovered if a) you miss or b) you hit? How many can you carry? They weigh a pound a piece. I think 20 should be a reasonable max for a mage.

At a pound a piece, consider that darts aren't our modern play darts. More like old Jarts or Lawn Darts. I would say they can certainly be recovered so long as there aren't any extenuating circumstances - dropped in water, lava, crushed by something, etc.

A mage could probably carry 20 around, but depending on his other gear and strength, he'd be limited in his other gear / treasure he can carry around. One of the things I like about magic users is that they usually don't carry a whole lot - no armor weighing them down. Makes them good treasure mules if you can keep them safe (and if they have a sleep spell as a backup!)

Pathfinder Rules Conversion, Frog God Games

I have always assumed they can be recovered, and honestly, I have never had a mu character carry more then 3-5 at any one time. Of course, for extended dungeon delving, that might change, but on hand, I wouldn't expect to have more then a half-dozen at best.

Lol, our mage has been firing them like a machinegun! He has been doing more damage than the fighter I swear. Need to make sure he checks his ranges and I think he has been rolling d4's instead of d3's.

With their RoF of 3 / round, I usually see M-U's hold on to 9 - 12. Just make sure to watch their range (it's only 15') and they're a d3 damage. If you're playing low level, they'll still be on par with the other classes, but as they advance in level they'll slip behind in their ability to ping an enemy. They just don't have the attack chart to keep up when enemies get to about AC 4 or lower. Of course, by then they have some big number spells too.

4 people marked this as a favorite.

I think it's time for another "State of the Frog" and a preview of what's on tap for the next 6-12 months. (After Sword of Air is done and vacations are completed, of course. :) )

Agreed with DaveMage! Always looking forward to more from the Frogs!

Got my Barakus shipment! Everything was there, Thanks Frogs!

PS - Flipping through Cyclopean Deeps looks absolutely awesome and I was also very impressed with RA expansions!

Just got my shipment. Enough to keep me busy for quite awhile now! Thanks Bill and the rest of the Frogs!!!
