@JustmeBD - you can never end shameless brown nosing...

@FGG crew - Any chance for a prerelease of a PDF to let the gang find the easter egg errors that are almost always there? Since we have some spare time before the printer really gets started...

Layout and Design, Frog God Games

There is no spare time, the book is at the printer. Even if you find errors in the PDF there will be no way to change the files that the the printer is using.

Changing things at this point could potentially cost MORE money.

Layout and Design, Frog God Games

Also, I haven't set up the PDF yet. That's a lot of polish and shine that is very different from what the printer needs. (PDF-only is a smaller files size, has bookmarking, etc.)

I just got the cover impositions today, so I'll be working on getting all of that done, plus setting up our ISBNs and barcodes! Lot's left to do!

Oh yeah, have to make the templates for the foil-on-leather covers today, too!

And then there's Cyclopean Deeps for PF and both RA add-on books, keeping up with general needs of our expanding company...

btw--an update on SOA as well--I am almost on track for September--but not sure we are going to get all the art in time--so it could be a little late.

I only have 3 more chapters to finish--and all are small. But the art is a little behind. I anticipate it will be close to schedule--but potentially a month or two off. SOA is printing in China--so we have customs etc. to worry about too.

We can deal with a month or two off, especially due to art. Although I am not sure that I would not have preferred it in B&W so it could be printed here.

It sounds like Chuck needs a minion, er, assistant...

Layout and Design, Frog God Games

Not yet! Once the gig pays more than 50k a year I'll do it.

(There is no danger of that happening anytime soon.)

September? Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me...

Mine is in late August. I was hoping, but now it seems it may be an early christmas present.

I suppose this would be the best place to put this.

Bill - there are some issues with the backerkit showing double pledge level listings.

For me (Herald) I paid my 75 plus added in another 150 or so my pledge level is complete and all my data is in there (Shows complete in green) - but I'm also showing a pledge for 40.00 listed as incomplete (in Red) and is asking for details (payment, what I want) and could be holding up the closeout. Apparently I'm not the only one who is having this problem.

At first I thought it was there so I could add the 2nd hardcover book (S&W) for the Herald level, but looking at the description of my completed entry both books are already listed as part of the 75$ pledge.

I closed my pledge out a while ago, but I'm sure I'm showing as incomplete. I don't want to hold this up.

Publisher, Frog God Games

Aux--saw that error--not sure why. Just answer 1. We are off to Dallas--so cannot fix it now--not sure we ever can since its there software

Don't forget, tomorrow is lockdown. I'm all set - and very excited!

Is anyone at FGG back? I'm just wondering, if I've changed mailing addresses but have everything being forwarded, if I need to notify you all of the new address?

Publisher, Frog God Games

almost back:) We are still caching up--if you sent an email, we are handling it

I got the PDF and a couple backer kit pdfs. How and when are those sent out?

Woah, you got stuff already? Nice!

EDIT

I think I misread that. Got me all excited, lol. :)

Yeah, no. :)

I purchased through the Barakus kickstarter, not received anything yet.

With having bought PDFs for Slumbering Tsar and Tome of Horrors IV which are out and the Desert one that comes out in July in addition to the Barakus PDF I was wondering when the pdfs would be sent out and how they would be sent out.

I've been in other kickstarters where coupons were given for rpgnow which I found useful for future redownloads. FGG pdfs are also available here and on their own site (which I'm not signed up on). I've also been a part of kickstarters where the PDFs were on an invite only website for a limited time to download, which I found less useful as I don't expect those to be around for redownloading in the future.

Hopefully it is soon; I am ready for some summer reading! I purchased Slumbering Tsar through the backer kit.

So Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring then Summer reading?

Exactly lol. I should have said summer(s) reading.

I assume they will be made available on FGG's own website.

From Mr Webb's blog post:

Papa Frog:
In other old business, the actual “books” for Barakus should arrive in about 10 days (to me) and start shipping out right around the holiday. The poster maps, player’s guides, RA subscriptions and CD subscriptions are still in the process of production and printing, so some of you may get your stuff slightly later than others. I thought about delaying shipping—but decided with 1000 or so orders to fill (close to 1100 actually) that I had better get started as quick as I could. In all cases you should get the books in July instead of August as promised. Thank you all again for the overwhelming support on the last kickstarter!

One of your newest superfans, Mark.

PS: I've set up a comfy chair in the bay window overlooking the mailbox and I'll be working from home for the next month. I'll be living exclusively in that chair constantly peering out to see if my shipment has arrived. No pressure :)

Great news to be sure. This was my birthday present to myself. Can't wait to start reading this and my copy of Slumbering Tsar! Woohoo!

V, are you saying that you purchased ST and THIV through the backerkit, and have access to them?

No, he is saying he bought them and does not yet have access to them and was wondering when he would... And I imagine that access will happen when the books ship...

No.

I purchased them through the backerkit portion of the kickstarter but have access to nothing yet from FGG.

As of now no one has access to anything from the backerkit from LCoB.

The only thing I have gotten so far from the LCoB KS (and assuming everyone else is in the same boat) is the Book of Dirty Tricks.

It's just a KS thing, for all accounts it seems like LCoB ks is going to go out (and with backer material) before SoA, since LCoB was easier to work on (update vs. new adventure).

Just a question of being patient.

I hope to get Barakus for S&W started by my birthday myself. Welcome to the party in Tsar KaiserDM! This will probably take one of my Tsar slots.

I had a guy at my house over the weekend who never has time for gaming. I told him that stinks since I've picked up RA and hopefully I'll be getting it soon. His face lights up. "I'll MAKE time if you've got that coming! I can't wait to go down the well..."

Now I'll admit, I've seen that phrase before about the megadungeon and don't know what it means, but just from his reaction I'm sure it's gotta be insane.

Please ship soon.

Don't go down the well... I'm just sayin'. On the other hand, it can be spectacular, in the way that TPKs are sometimes spectacular. You have been warned.

Now my wife legitimately can wear the "I went down the well" button. She even survived, barely. At least until they met Zelkor!

Sheesh guys, spoiler much?? Now I've gotta go and peek and see what's up with this well...

Huh, don't look so bad. Tie off that rope, and hand me a torch, I'm gonna go take a look...

Looks like we are going to lose another one. Oh the pain!

Yeah, I was looking at the Well again and initially was like, "Hell, my players can take this! They're some seriously heavy hitting 8th-9th level guys." Then I kept reading and my smile faded. Then my joy was gone and I saw the horror, and was all "Nevermind. They are NOT ready for this."

My paladin went down the well....

...he didn't come back. :(

(But he did give his life to save the rest of the party.)

That doesn't mean they shouldn't go there. Heh, talk 'em in to it ;)

Let them read the player's guide, and if they still want to go down the well, then down the well it is...

Such normal paladinness...

No one who has gone down the well in my games has ever returned...ever.

You guys is evil! Every time their above ground I gently remind them of the ominous well in the north of the graveyard. One day they'll take the plunge!

Does anything ever come OUT of the well? That'd be a hilarious sight - the grim and determined party heads over to the well just as some guy in ripped clothes is pulling himself up and out. "Do NOT... go in there. WHOOO!" in true Ace Ventura fashion starts fanning the air.

It it came from 3A - it wouldn't be a threat that some high level adventurers couldn't handle......

Players...really stay out:
If it comes from deeper down (3B).... then it should be the end of the World.

I know what you mean, Mark. My players are so paranoid of it, they've never even considered trying it. RA has a major reputation.

I'm hoping by using Barakus that I can avoid some of those metagame shenanigans.

It's kind of our fault.

"Don't go down the well!" is one of the unofficial Rappan Athuk slogans.

There's tons more stuff that you shouldn't do in RA that people don't know about.

I always figure you had to be slightly crazy to be an adventurer anyways. Just makes sense to me that they'd want to try it. But no takers so far. :)

Publisher, Frog God Games

pdfs should be out for everything very soon. Chris has been pretty sick--I bugged him again today and he said he was working on it now.

Hey, they should be warned of at least SOME of the danger. Then they can't complain about the danger they WEREN'T warned of killing them all. :)

It is a general rumor that can be used, so no need for metagaming, but how can they pass on it? Just about any other self respecting (snicker) group of adventurers would sneer at such a warning, dive into the well, and activate their mass levitate on the way down...

I always used RA as a backdrop in my campaign games...any group could go, if they chose to. One campaign group actually thought about it, but the group disintegrated into interparty conflict and self destructed by level three!

I'm currently staring at the PDFs... all ready except for the bookmarking... the hated, hated bookmarking...
