Sovereign Court

Hi there! This is a recruitment thread for 'Library of the Lion'.

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 1–5.

Few societies have so vaunted a tradition of leading crusades as Taldor, yet the constant revisions to its history by scheming factions leaves the truth obscured by countless acts of political modifications. Even the lauded Kitharodian Academy’s texts are riddled with these changes, so when a secretive ally approaches the Pathfinder Society with information about a hidden archive that contains the unaltered histories, the Pathfinders plan a daring infiltration to recover the secrets of Taldor’s past victories so that Mendev might benefit from the discovery.

Content in "Library of the Lion" also contributes directly to the ongoing storylines of the Cheliax, Grand Lodge, and Taldor factions.

Written by Kyle Elliot.

If you are interested in playing, let me know :-)

Please note that this game is part of the Official Pathfinder Society PbP Game Day. For more information please follow the link here.

The official start date of the PbP Game Day (and hence for this scenario) is on April 5th, 2014.

The PbP Game Day end date is July 5th, 2014.

Silver Crusade

Hi Luke - count me in (Brett here from the odd Syd Shadowlodge game)

Got a level 2 I can throw in. At the moment its an Inquisitor, but am considering a possible alternation before I lock him in.

Sovereign Court

Welcome aboard, Brett :-)

Shadow Lodge

Howdy Luke! 'Tis Kelgar from Reign of Winter.

I haven't played or run Library of the Lion yet, but would love a shot at it, and another chance to game with ya...

I have a couple of GM credits lying around on various IDs for unformed level 2's, but would likely grab my level 2 Taldor faction gnome cleric of Brigh for this scenario - The Professor.

Sovereign Court

I may have a couple of Fighter types for you depending on whether they finish their games by April.

Liberty's Edge

Jake Hargrove, Male Two-Handed Fighter/4 submitted for your consideration.

Dotting for interest - I haven't started a PFS character, yet. Definitely interested, though.

Sovereign Court

@Lekku: No worries! We are always happy to welcome new players :-)

Okay, so thus far we have:

Yarg Nairrod: (Inquisitor?) 2
Wakedown: Cleric 2
Nightdeath: (character pending)
Jake Hargrove: Fighter 4
Lekku: (brand new to PFS)

So, we have a solid party, but there is always room for more players :-D

I do have a Zen Archer Monk that I could modify to PFS standards.

Sovereign Court

@Lekku: That should be fine :-) Let me know when you have updated Brother Shoka, and I will have a quick glance over him.

Liberty's Edge

"Wakedown has told this one of your adventures into the library of the lion. As an adept with the blade and the raygun, it would do this one proud to accompany you on your adventure."

The unusually attired, androgynous elf tosses hir hair back and adjusts hir brightly colored moth-wing cloak.

Room for one more? I would be most grateful!

Sovereign Court

Mine is either a Fighter level 2 or a Fighter 1/ Inquistor 1

Sovereign Court

@Thorel: Of course there is room :-)

If there was sufficient interest, I would even be happy to run two simultaneous tables :-D

Updated List:

Yarg Nairrod: (Inquisitor?) 2
Wakedown: Cleric 2
Nightdeath: Fighter 2 or Fighter 1 / Inquisitor 1
Jake Hargrove: Fighter 4
Lekku: Monk 1
Thorel Castrovir: Magus 2

Silver Crusade

Question: Is that trapfinder thing from People of the Sands PFS legal? I can make a quick update as he isn't played yet from level 1. Otherwise we seem to lack trap finding.

Sovereign Court

Answer: Unfortunately, that is one of the 'Mummy's Mask' Campaign traits, so it is *not* legal for PFS (Campaign traits are not PFS legal).

Silver Crusade

Counter: On one hand thats a bit of a shame for this character. On the other I am VERY happy rogues hold their relevance just a little longer.

Sczarni

Any room for me?

Sczarni

Nevermind, I found another group that’s only got two people.

Scarab Sages

Since Thorel threw down the glove of RP-infused introductions...

It's unclear whether it's the posture or the intrinsic size of the elderly "man" as he hobbles his way into the meeting lodge, but what is certainly clear is that the man is old. Very old.

His eyes bulge from behind thick rimmed glasses and a tiny wisp of white hair trails atop his head like a miniature flag blowing in the wind.

While he appears to be wearing a white coat replete with pockets bulging with unknown contents, little by way of armor protects his body outside a set of matching striped pajamas and a pair of blue slippers.

Smacking his lips, he seems to look about the room but focuses on nobody in particular.

"Good neeeews, Pathfinders! Blessings of Mah-ahm be upon you!"

"Today you have the luck of being in the company of the most well-trained, studied Pathfind---"

As if suddenly exhausted by his introduction, the small man's head slumps forward, chin-to-chest and an exceptionally loud snore escapes his withered lips.

"Zzzzz....."

"Quantium... *mumble mumble*..."

"Nex..."

Indeed, this character is thusly inspired. My apologies in advance. With his advanced age, he's seen several regimes of Taldor princes and is quite enthused to visit this "Library of the Lion". Please don't let any shadows sap his last reserve of strength. :)

Liberty's Edge

Thorel titters a bit behind a hand that flies up to cover hir mouth. Ze puts hir weight on one hip, which bears a rather unusual looking, wand-like device. By Castrovel's moons, that one looks ready to cross the Final Sea at any moment.

I need to consult my records. Thorel may be 3rd level already, though I think ze has one or two more to go...

Grand Lodge

A low rumble announces a new arrival. A boot nudges a small barrel through the doorway, which rolls across the floor to rest at the feet of narcoleptic(?) Gnome. It is followed by a Half-Elf in the garments of an obscure monastery. The monk looks over the sleepy Professor curiously.

"Greetings, fellows - my name is Brother Tophor. Allow me to offer you a pint on behalf of the Brothers Cailean."

Lekku, here. I modified my Zen Archer to fit PFS requirements. Decided to go with a name change, just to keep the other one in reserve. Feedback/critiques welcome.

Liberty's Edge

Thorel looks at Tophor and begins to speak in a strange, essentially incomprehensible dialect of Elvish, "T•÷lp uv•r0c ∆mar∂? Vr!•p bl÷vp h01vd, y1v¶e Tophor." Ze bows arcanely.

Confirmed: 2nd level.

I may move Yarg over to another game BUT keep the slot. I may go for a Rogue to fill it or a Wizard. So Please hold Yargs slot.

Silver Crusade

Luke,

Would be happy to play in one of your games again, but only if you are ok running two tables at once.

Let me know!

Silver Crusade

I'll keep Yarg and level him to 2.

Sovereign Court

@Anaduno: I would be happy to run two tables :-)

Silver Crusade

Sounds great! Thanks!

Liberty's Edge

A tall, well-muscled, and militarily outfitted man enters the gathering. The hilt of a greatsword potrudes over his left shoulder, as it is sheathed in an elaborate holder on his back. He walks with confidence, ramrod straight, and with a stern visage.

Hello all. Jake Hargrove, reporting for the mission.

Liberty's Edge

Thorel looks at Jake and once again titters demurely behind hir upraised hand. Ze rustles the bright multi-hued colors of hir moth-wing cloak.

Grand Lodge

Hello all. Jake Hargrove, reporting for the mission.

Tophor waves to the newcomer, then returns to pouring himself a pint of latest creation.

Grand Lodge

Sorry, just noticed that was supposed to be in quotes... but wasn't

Sovereign Court

Alright, at present, this is the list:

Yarg Nairrod: (Inquisitor?) 2
Wakedown: Cleric 2
Nightdeath: Fighter 2 or Fighter 1 / Inquisitor 1
Jake Hargrove: Fighter 4
Lekku: Monk 1
Thorel Castrovir: Magus 2
Anaduno Enstateis: Fighter 1

If we acquire one or more additional players, I will be happy to run two tables, but at present, I am equally happy to run a table of seven.

Grand Lodge

Huzzah!

Liberty's Edge

If I might request joking Granfpa Wakedown, I'd be grateful.

Liberty's Edge

If I don't get "called in" on another scenario, I'd be willing to join here as a lvl 3 bard (street performer). I'm an alternate for another PbP.

If you still have room I have a lvl 4 Heaven Shaman I would like to bring to the scenario.

Liberty's Edge

So, are two tables self-evident?

Sovereign Court

Yes, it looks like there will be two tables (with 8 definite players, and one 'maybe').

Silver Crusade

when will you open the game play thread for dotting?

Sovereign Court

Tomorrow :-)

Sovereign Court

Alright, here are the tables:

Team Alpha:
Yarg Nairrod: (Inquisitor?) 2
Wakedown: Cleric 2
Nightdeath: Fighter 2 or Fighter 1 / Inquisitor 1
Jake Hargrove: Fighter 4

Team Omega:
Lekku: Monk 1
Thorel Castrovir: Magus 2
Anaduno Enstateis: Fighter 1
MichaelCullen: Shaman(Heavens)4

Sovereign Court

Links are broken for some odd reason.

Team Alpha:
Yarg Nairrod: (Inquisitor?) 2
Wakedown: Cleric 2
Nightdeath: Fighter 2 or Fighter 1 / Inquisitor 1
Jake Hargrove: Fighter 4

Team Omega:
Lekku: Monk 1
Thorel Castrovir: Magus 2
Anaduno Enstateis: Fighter 1
MichaelCullen: Shaman(Heavens)4
-Hyrgan-: Bard 3

Grand Lodge

Thanks, Nightdeath!

Liberty's Edge

Since my character is still in the middle of a tabletop mod, I am going to refrain from posting in the gameplay tab for my team until the mod is up (should be April 4th). Other than that, it looks like I will not be used as an alternate for the other scenario.

Shadow Lodge

Ah I think Thorel and I were hoping to play together. If it doesn't work out, it's not the end of the world, but I don't think we'd object to a shuffle if it could be achieved!

Sovereign Court

I could shift to the other group is that's what you guys want. I have no objections to being shuffled.

Sovereign Court

I would be happy for Wakedown and Nightdeath to swap.

Sovereign Court

Luke please remove me from Team Alpha and have Thorel move there instead.
I'll be posting in Team Omega instead then.

Sovereign Court

Has Thorel moved over yet?

Shadow Lodge

I imagine he'll check in before the 5th kicks in.
