One Bard, Two Traits- is this Legal?

GM Discussion

Hi Everyone,

I'm posting this in the PFS GM board because I want the opinions of GMs out there to tell me if this is legal.

I have a level 2 Fighter/Bard and have played four games with this character.

His traits are "Maestro of the Society" and "Fashionable". Both are found in the PFS field guide (I think?).

My question: are they of the same category?

And, if they are, can I make changes to make a character legal after having played him at level 2?

Thanks,

Nope, it's legal. "Maestro of the Society" is a Society trait, while "Fashionable" is a Taldor specific Campaign trait. As long as he's playing a Taldor character who was a bard at 1st level, his traits are legit.

Maestro of the Society is a Social trait. 'Fashionable' I cannot find. If you mean 'Extremely Fashionable', its out of the Adventurer's Armory and is an Equipment trait. If that is the case, no, they arent the same type, and yes, you can have both of them.

If 'Fashionable' does turn out to be a Society trait that I just couldnt find, then talk to your local Venture Officer. They'll probably just have you change it to something you could actually use.

If you mean "Extremely Fashionable," then that trait is found on page 30 of the Adventurer's Armory sourcebook. It is an Equipment Trait.

"Maestro of the Society" is out of Faction Guide sourcebook, and is a Social Trait.

You can have both of these traits. You can always check the legality of traits and features in the Additional Resources, found here. Also remember that in order to use various features provided in sourcebooks, like those two traits, you need to provide a copy of the sourcebooks themselves to your table GM. Either as a watermarked PDF (proving your ownership of the material), or a hardcopy of the book. This ruling is covered in the Guide to Organized Play, page 5 under Additional Resources.

EDIT: Whoops, the Fashionable trait could also be the Taldor trait from the Guide to OP; good call Misroi.

Ninja'ed, and with a better answer at that. :P

Wow, quick replies. Looks like my Taldor flag-flying nobleman bard is legal and good to go. Thanks everyone!

Remember that campaign traits are not legal unless the additional resources specifically give the ability to use it.

They are referring to the PFSOP trait, for the Taldor faction, which is part of the PFSOP campaign trait group.
