season 5 reporting vs holding back scenarios

The venture captain for my area has requested that we not run anything after 5-11 until late may to help out a local con.

With the way scenarios build on each other in season 5, this sounds like a terrible idea. In order to contribute to the campaign, we have to get scenarios reported in. If we wait until late May to start on these, it'll be too late to matter.

So, I guess it comes down to: how much lead time is allowed for reporting? When do the results of a scenario become too late for the writers to incorporate?

Paizo Employee 4/5 Developer

The lead time varies by the scenario, so there's not one right answer here. I know some of the reporting checkboxes will be important a considerable way down the line (as in 8+ months after the publication date). I know that I've used other reporting data as early as two months after the scenario's publication.

Even when something may be a little too late for a writer to incorporate, there are some features that I can add during development to reflect the most up-to-date reporting data.

In the situation you provided, I don't think that waiting until late May should have a negative impact on our reporting data. Just make sure those tables get reported soon after the convention, though; a lot of decision-making happens during convention season at Paizo.

Destiny of the Sands tidbit:
The most important reporting feature of the series happens in Part 3, which I imagine is no surprise.

Ok, thanks.
