Help with horrible rolls?

Advice

Me and my gaming group are just starting up a new campaign and I just rolled my stats.

10
10
12
12
13
13

Needless to say, it's impossible to roll above average on 2D6+6...

Does anybody have any idea's on how I can make a decent char with this? We have a melee type already, nothing else. All books are allowed.

I usually play spellcasters but that will be impossible I'm afraid with these stats.

Thanks in advance!

A wizard. Put 13 in int and ad 2 from race. It isent great but in time you will rule the World.

It would be helpful to know;
Starting Level?
How high of level are you likely to get to?
What is everyone else playing?
What books are allowed?
Any campaign specifics?
GM style?

Impossible, no. A 15 starting int for a wizard (or chr or wis for other classes) is decent. If you focus on buffing your allies, your subpar save dcs shouldn't matter.

As a side comment, I'll bet at least 1 player rolled really good stats. But point buy vs rolling is an entirely different topic.

10' ish

1 melee type is certain, the rest is not yet decided

everything pathfinder, no D&D

no house rules or other specials

There is a favor on roleplaying, that's why I'm not begging for a reroll :p enemy's are diverse and played very different each time

Thanks, that helps :p

Pick a class that can use multiple (average) abilitry scores, like Cleric.
Str:13
Dex:12/10
Con:13/12
Int:12/10
Wis:13
Cha:13/12/10 (depending if you want to channel)
Put race mod in Wis and Str/Con. You can take -2 to Cha if you don't want to channel (Dwarf could be a good race to play).

Or if you want a ranged Cleric you can switch Str and Dex.

If you play a buffer it won't matter that you got 15 Wis, since you don't rely on enemys failing their saves.

As much as I hate to say it you could make a synth summoner.

Alternatively you could make one of the following:

- a pc that relies on his animal companion to do part of the work and stays back for buffing himself.

- buffing bard. They don't need high stats

- Other kind of skillmonkey

A master summoner might also work. Who cares if you stats suck? Just summon someone who has better ones. ;)

So, 5th-6th level spells max. A starting 15 is looking better.

buffer
summoner
diviner

Honestly a buffing bard who specializes in aiding his allies and then maximizes bluff along with pageant of the peacock should be able to shine in the direct face of your effectively 10 point buy stats.

I would check out this guide for tips on buffing.

and then this thread for bluff optimization.

Given your poor stats you shouldn't feel bad about pulling out some... effective... choices.

Or you could just play a Cleric. That'd work too.

Druid with a decent animal companion?

Dont forget your free ability point every 4 levels. You can have a 16 at 4, a 17 at 8 and an 18 at 12. This is before headbands. Your required ability score will progress well ahead of your spell levels.

Scarab Sages

I'd suggest a Tiefling Alchemist, cursed with a non-heroic physique in a world of heroes, you are constantly seeking out ways in which to improve and enhance yourself.

Consider the Beastmorph, Chirugeon and Vivisectionist archetypes as a combination.

Your intial mutagen should be Strength, to enable you to deal a little damage in melee, with a Boar Spear as a decent opening weapon choice and wearing a Chain Shirt

You can use Stealth and your Darkness ability to give yourself cover for your opening sneak attack.

Stats:

Energy Resistance, Fire (5) You have the specified Energy Resistance against Fire attacks.
Highlander (hills or mountains) +1 to Stealth checks, Stealth is always a class skill for you. Double this in hilly or rocky areas.
Mutagen (DC 11) (Su) Mutagen adds +4 to a physical & -2 to a mental attribute, and +2 nat. armor for 10 min.
Sneak Attack +1d6 +1d6 damage if you flank your target or your target is flat-footed.
Throw Anything Proficient with improvised ranged weapons. +1 to hit with thrown splash weapons.

Thanks for all the tips!

The Tiefling looks nice but the preparation of the mutagen after every battle doens't really speak to me.

Might go for a dwarven cleric with:
STR: 12
DEX: 12/10
CON: 13+2
INT: 10/12
WIS: 13+2
CHA: 10-2

No Channeling, just buffing the party at start and buffing myself after a few lvl's.
Any specific tricks I could still work on that?
