This plain ring, typically made of steel or stone, grants the wearer the effects of rage for up to 10 rounds per day. These rounds do not need to be consecutive.

Alright now that I have copy and pasted all the relevant rules...it seems like a silly question but I'm going to ask anyway.

I have two characters, one is a Babarian/Oracle/Rage Prophet the other is a Paldin/Sorcerer/Dragon Disciple.

For the Rage Prophet I only have 10 rounds of Rage, with this ring would I have 20 and would it be Greater Rage with +6 to Str and +8 to Con and I won't go unconcious if I go into negatives?

For the Paladin....would this give me 10 rounds of basic Rage Power and avoid the alignment issue of taking a level of Barbarian?

I'm not certain if that ring gives you the spell named rage or the barbarian class feature named rage. The spell gives a fixed benefit regardless of levels in barbarian or rage prophet and doesn't fatigue you at the end; the only differences between the two.

The ring on d20pfsrd links to the barbarian's rage and is a 3rd-party product, if that helps.

Well the ring says that it gives you the effects of rage, not that it gives you 10 extra rounds of rage per day, so I would say that you get 10 rounds of rage you can use, but they would function as the normal rage not greater rage and you would have to track them separately from your actual class given barbarian rage rounds per day.

Using it with a character with paladin levels could get dicey if it is used too often. A paladin must maintain a Lawful Good alignment and although raging isn't evil it is a chaotic act, so as your DM I would rule that frequent use of rage by a paladin risks an alignment shift from lawful to neutral or even chaotic.

The ring does not say it's use is chaotic. And point in case a cleric of Ragathiel (Lawful Good Empyreal Lord / Deity) has rage as one of his domains and clerics of Ragathiel can get rage as a domain ability that functions similarly to a barbarians.

However, I tend to agree that the ring does not grant extra rounds of rage as the Barbarian ability, but rather grants the basic effects of the rage spell. I would say that you could use your rage powers from being a Barbarian during this time though.

Rage haw no effect on the paladins alignment. Its not really an "I get angry ability" its a "I can force myself to be hopped up on adrenalin" ability. It does not force any moral decisions on you you just can't focus on some stuff.

I think the sbility just grants the spell if it gave the actual barbaran ability I think it needs more text.

That said if it does grant the barbarian ability the wearer woukd get their full rage (ie greater or mighty) but I think a ring that intentialy did this would spell it out better.
