You'll find something to get you in your comic book store on Wednesday beyond laughing at awful big two storylines. And even from them, sometimes you'll find a graphic novel that isn't so awful.I do actually read some manga, though I am MAD picky about it. Currently reading all of Jojo's Bizzarre Adventure.
You read Jojo? You must be a patient man.

Somewhat off-topic, but I really liked them both in Whip It. I want to name my daughter Ashley so I can call her Smashley :)

A patient and bored man :) I just finished Steel Ball Run and I'm getting started on Jojolion.

I'm loving battle angel Alita: Last Order, monster musume, and I may indeed get into Gundam ecoile du ciel and any unicorn adaptations.

I wish I could get back into comics. But between Death of Superman and Civil War, as well as other crappy storylines, I just can't arse myself to do such a thing...
There's a lot of good stuff, if you know where to look. Including from the mainstream publishers.
The trick is to not fall into the weekly Wednesday buy trap.

If it had, I wouldn't have said anything. I'd have had no problem if the post had been "Kitty Pryde is straight: she has slept with men and only men." The post could even still have included the list of male character's she's been portrayed in relationships with. Like I've said a couple times now: he could have easily phrased his post to avoid the problematic element.
It's not the ignorance, it's the reasoning.

As for Kristen Johnson, she publicly announced in December to her fans, and did the interview circuit, about how she is battling lupus myelitis. Page came out because of the harm she felt her silence was doing to her.
So Johnson's physical illness is OK for people to say she's "brave", but Page's depression and self-worth isn't?
W. T. F.
so you're saying depression isn't an illness?

If it makes you feel any better, Viv, I apologize for implying that a heterosexual fictional character is heterosexual. In the future I'll attempt to avoid having thoughts, since I'm sure whatever they might happen to be, you can undoubtedly twist them into something that you can somehow manage to find offensive.
I don't think that's what she was trying to say.

Sorry - how is it that people still don't recognise her after she was in Inception?
That is like saying you didn't know Carrie Fisher was in Star Wars.
I found Inception to be an incredibly forgettable and slow paced film. To be honest, the only thing I vaguely remember about it is the plot. Sort of.

The big deal isn't that Page (or Sam) is gay. I don't think anyone here has said that their being gay somehow makes them more important or better, and certainly not more so than a non-LGBT peer. No one here is saying that in a perfect world being LGBT should be treated differently than being hetero. No one is offering to celebrity worship at Page's feet just because she's gay.
The point I have been repeatedly making is that I (and others) care because Page (and Sam) coming out adds more to the growing mountain of evidence that LGBT people are just as capable of being talented, respected, and successful as everyone else... that they are normal. And in this imperfect world we all live in, that message matters because people, especially kids, still need to hear it so they can continue to struggle on until it does actually Get Better.

And technically, Ultimate Kitty Pride might be bi if she finds out Ultimate Spider-Woman is the female clone of Peter Parker with all his memories and (seemingly) personality intact (unless Bendis has retconned that plot hook away... I couldn't afford to keep reading for a while now).
