The devs and campaign leadership are listening. We have almost 400 PFS games run between us. It takes time to change the culture. The fact that you blame everything you did on a season 0 scenario that none of us were even around for is pretty sad. The fact that you saw fit to just change things for this group with whatever you wanted is disappointing. The player has a right to be upset. He only gets one real chance to experience the adventure, and you took that experience away from and turned it into whatever you decided you wanted to make the adventure. At this point, there isn't much to add and nowhere for this thread to really go but become more negative. Therefore, I'm locking this thread.

Rules are in place for a reason. They've been explained as nauseum so I won't do so again. We aren't going to make a more complicated system because you don't like the min max players that sit at your table. We have to cater to a 60,000+ player base across the world, not just the GMs and players in New York. The fact that you can make changes to give the group a challenge, doesn't mean all GMs can, and when a GM does change things and characters die, I receive emails expressing pain, anguish, grief, and anger. Organized play is set up so players can expect a similar experience anywhere they travel in the world. It was set up that way, not because we don't trust GMs, but because we want players to know exactly what to expect when they travel to other parts of the world to play a game. If we just tell GMs make whatever changes they want to make, then it creates a world of unforeseen problems, literally.

I'm sorry you had a poor experience but you brought it on yourself. The best advice I can give you is that if you want to change things as you see fit as a GM, then do so at a home game. You knew the rules set forth for OP before you accepted the role as a GM. To just disregard them to create more of a "challenge" is not acceptable in PFS. It hasn't been for five years and it won't be for the foreseeable future.
