Stats for characters from the Hobbit

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber

My wife is running a class for middle schoolers studying the "Hero's Journey". Amongst other things they are reading the Hobbit. To further their understanding and get some interaction we thought it would be fun for her to run some simplified pathfinder encounters where the students would play the dwarves. (She has 10 students.) The first encounter played would probably be the Trolls ...

Does anyone have any feedback on base stats for the 14 characters, and a couple of fun feats.

For the troll encounter they are probably going to be level 2 ... each encounter after that (maybe the next one after the trolls will be goblin town) they will get a level or two boost.

I'm not thinking best builds or anything, but thinking fun for first time players, and giving the students interesting options each round (Like, Bombur having bull rush maybe).

Also, each character should be true to the story (with some tendencies to the movie to add SOME interest because holy cow the dwarves in the book were pathetic!) In short, none of them ever cast a spell. (For that matter, what does Gandalf ever cast!)

Thoughts?

Bombur, Bull Rush
Thorin, some leadership trait for moral bonus
Kili, Fili, Teamwork feats?

Yeah I was about to say that, if you are going to make them true to the book most of the dwarves should be level 1 commoners with the occasional expert and only thorin actually having levels in a martial class.

If you lean towards the movie you have a bunch of low (but not first) level fighters and barbarians.
The problem is combat wise its hard to tell what each of them should be specifically capable of. Bombur apparently can dual wield and use barrels for improvised armor. Thorin is a Sword&Boarder, but most of the time if they are fighting at all, they are all just hacking away in a fairly standard fashion with whatever weapons they can get their hands on.

Sovereign Court

They are all level 5 tops at the battle of 5 armies with maybe Balin being level 6 but also getting old age penalties.
Gandalf is perhaps level 10.
Azog could be level 7 and Bolg maybe 4.
Legolas is around 8. Tauriel around 6. Thranduil could be 9
Bilbo 2 or 3
Smaug is a great wyrm red dragon.

Fun all around.
