Which sources tell us anything about Old Mage Jatembe? I know the gold standard is Mythic Realms, which has full-on stats, a picture, and a page of story info.

Are there other sources with juicy tidbits? Does he show up in any of the Serpent's Skull AP books? (I don't have that AP.)

Mythic Realms, as you mentioned, since it has both Jatembe and the Doorway to the Red Star (which he was involved with, though he didn't gain mythic power from it). See also Artifacts and Legends (Ring of Nine Facets), the Inner Sea World Guide (references Nantambu, though it's only a short paragraph), Inner Sea Magic (the Magaambya is one of the academies there) and Heart of the Jungle (details the city of Nantambu as well as some bits and pieces about Jatembe and his Ten Magic Warriors, and a few tidbits on Ird, which he's rumoured to have been connected to).

Dot.

He does not appear in any way in Serpent's Skull.

Jatembe also an indirect appearance in Champions of Purity - flavor-wise, all of the new spells in the book were developed by Jatembe and recently rediscovered. The book has a sidebar discussing Jatembe.

Damnit, how did I forget that one? I was looking at it only an hour or two before I posted all those other sources as well...

There's a tiny bit of flavor (and more can be extrapolated from the mechanics) in Paths of Prestige, in the Magaambyan Arcanist PrC write up.

Looks Like Jatembe's wiki page has some data from Humans of Golarion, p. 5. as well

Jatembe has a wiki page? Cool.

I wonder if he's on Facebook? :)

I think that covers all the sources. :)

Y'know, given how Jatembe may have carried the torch of his old civilization(at least for the parts he felt worth keeping alive) might have some parallels with Aroden and Azlant, I'm wondering what the major differences might be with their situations.

That is, IIRC Aroden has been painted as the last survivor of his civilization after its destruction by an outside force. The ancient cilization of the Mwangi however has been described as being abandoned by its own people in a tone that suggest people jumping out of sinking ship that's on fire and full of snakes that are on fire.

Wonder if Jatembe, a guy who seems far more benign in nature than Aroden, might have been that civilizations "executioner", after which he did his best to carry on what he felt was worth preserving and trying to bury the rest to protect the children of that culture from making the same mistakes their ancestors did.

Then again that may have been before Jatembe's time. Really need to re-read some books...

Liberty's Edge

Jatembe is probably one of the more interesting spell casters and figures of golarion. the fact that he wasnt a god but had access to both divine and arcane magicks and stood fast as a light against the age of darkness makes him a bit cooler than Aroden (imo at least)

He never really died did he?

It's unknown if he died, but his write-up includes the following fun facts --

1) Jatembe has the immortality discovery.

2) Jatembe has constant shapechange and mind blank, given as divine boons.

If he IS still alive, and he most certainly could be, he's potentially impossible to locate.

Or rather, he's only findable when he wants to be.

Jatambe is Merlin...
If Merlin were ten times as cool.

Jatembe definitely seems much more personable than his contemporaries(Aroden, Nethys, Nex, Geb...).

Of course I can't help but like the guy after I wound up being unable to not associate him with Robert Guillaume's voice, particularly in his Eli Vance years.

A voice that sounds as old as the world, but still warm and lively. Like what one might expect the anthropomorphic manifestation of the concept of "Grandpa" would sound like...
