I got Black Mesa, and was having a blast, until, that is, THE FREAKING MINED WAREHOUSE LEVEL.
Whoever came up with that, i hope they get a nasty rash on their butt and cannot sit on it for days.
I do not consider jumping over a mine beam over and over and over again to no avail fun. So, I quit, uninstalled the thing and...argh...it's just so annoying!
You shouldn't be so stressed. Life is blessedly short for you carbon-based flesh units, so try to enjoy it. Have a cup of tea from the Nutrimatic Drinks Dispenser--remember, “Share and enjoy”--while I round you up a fresh piece of cake.
You seem to rage quit and uninstall games on a too regular basis.
Are you sure games are your thing?
The mine warehouse takes like 5 minutes maximum to traverse. It's slightly annoying (though the BLACK MESA version is nothing like as bad as the original HALF-LIFE version) but not really a ragequit-inducing part of the game.
Now if it had been Part II, and you'd just be killed by the giant mobile testicle monster for the 20th time, I'd be more understanding :)

It seems there was something wrong with my version of the game because everyone else says that ctrl+jump works on mine beams. It worked for me every 20 or so times.
I rage quit over idiotic designs. Or annoying people in multiplayer.
I tend to play video games for the story, not gameplay.
However, I tend to be rather good at games, so most of them I start at the hardest possible level just to get a challenge.
But this level just made me want to scream. There is no challenge in traversing a minefield where you have to jump over laser beams. And if you don't do it right, you die, rinse and repeat. It's tedium. And I can't stand tedium in my games.
In the end, I reinstalled it, noclipped through that part of the level and finished the game in half an hour. They still didn't add the Xen level.
