"A Princess of Mars / John Carter" themed game - Any system you can recommend?

I recently developed a fascination for Rice Burroughs' Mars saga and would like to eventually run a game based on this type of science-fantasy universe, like Conan the Barbarian in space. Anyone has any game systems to recommend?

Pathfinder can actually do some of that. Check out Distant Worlds - Golarion's solar system is very heavily based on the pulp sci-fi and sword-and-planet fiction of Burroughs and his ilk.

Try the Savage Worlds version of Mars by Adamant Entertainment.

Iirc, Adamant had a d20 version of Mars as well.

+1 to Mars Savage Worlds. You could also try Mutants and Masterminds with the Warriors and Warlocks sourcebook or FATE Core.

Fantasy Craft with a tweak or two. Depends how you want guns/rayguns to work.
