Synthesist question

Advice

so I'm working on a synthesist (I am aware of all the op-ness of the class but I'm sort of building the hulk and it works for that)

my idea is a halfling or gnome, when it fuses with it's eidolon does the halfling become medium or stay small?

depends on the size of the eidolon i would believe. Though for building the hulk i like to go rage-chemist into master chymist

The halfling doesn't change size. The eidolon, however, can be a different size (in this case, medium), in which case the "combined" summoner+eidolon would be medium.

You can also do a small synth as a halfling/gnome; useful if you are wanting to make a Serpent-Form-Agile-Amulet type that is difficult to see or hit. One of the cooler/better builds IMHO :).

Since we are going for maximum effectiveness, if you *want* to stay small, go ahead and use a small aasimar/tiefling (variant sidebar in Blood of Angels/Fiends). Pick a bloodline with mental stats.

And buy a dice shield. :)

Synthesist is not OP.
Mass slam builds are fun, but also keep in mind that your maximum amount of natural attacks DOES NOT ally to manufactured weapons. If your DM allows, you could take multiattack, only use light weapons (get exotic weapon prof [Sawtooth Saber] and you can just hulk out for as much damage as you have sabers and arms.
